Sennheiser’s Introduces New Evolution Wireless G4 Wireless Camera Audio Systems and Previews New Mobile Recording Solution

The Sennheiser stand at NAB 2018 showed tailor-made audio solutions for mobile journalism, newsgathering, and film productions, in addition to presenting the AMBEO range of products for VR and AR productions. New configurations for the updated Evolution Wireless G4 family were the main focus, but there was also a preview of a very interesting new wireless audio recording solution for mobile devices.

Reedsburg, Wisconsin-based Sound Devices announced the recent acquisition of Audio Limited, the UK manufacturer and developer of high-performance wireless microphone systems. Audio Ltd., now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sound Devices, will continue to operate out of its Watford, UK offices with Kishore Patel and Lee Stone continuing as managing director and technical director, respectively.

When it comes to field recording, Sound Devices continues to push the envelope with its expanded range of solutions. With the new MixPre-10T, the Reedsburg, Wisconsin, -based company now offers a compact, 10-input/12 tracks of polyphonic WAV file recording and mixer with an expanded feature set, including built-in Timecode generator and reader, balanced outputs, diverse powering, and auto copying. An ideal solution for production sound mixers, field recordists, sound designers, and musicians.

Zoom unveiled the new H4n Pro Handy Recorder, featuring advanced microphones, high-performance mic preamps, and an extremely low noise floor, among the improved features and specifications. The Zoom H4n Pro is a high-quality four-track audio recorder and USB audio interface, ideal for music, film, and podcasting applications.

DPA Microphones announced the launching of its new d:screet Slim Microphone at the 139th AES convention in New York. Developed in response to a growing need, especially from the film industry, for a near-invisible bodyworn microphone, d:screet Slim features the company’s omnidirectional capsule element in a flat head, a slender cable and a new button-hole mount accessory.
