Sound Devices Announces MixPre II Series Audio Recorders, Mixers and USB Interfaces

Sound Devices announced the launch of its new MixPre-3 II, MixPre-6 II, and MixPre-10 II, successors of the award-winning MixPre Series. All models of the MixPre II Series function as recorders, mixers, and USB interfaces, and are suited for a wide range of applications, with features for podcasters, musicians, indie filmmakers, journalists, field recordists, and production sound mixers alike.

First unveiled at the NAB 2019 show in Las Vegas, Zoom confirmed the final specifications and shipping schedule for its new F6 multitrack field recorder and mixer. In this compact but extremely powerful design, Zoom combined the latest 32-bit recording technology with the most popular features of its pro-grade Zoom F8n recorder. This allows incredible possibilities for any production that needs a very compact solution in the field and recording audio with very high quality.

Zoom is now shipping its F1 Field Recorder with a choice of shotgun or lavalier microphones, expanding its product line of quality audio recording solutions for video recording devices and DSLR cameras. The all-new two-channel F1 Field Recorder takes portable audio recording to a new level, with a bright display for outdoors, pre-recording buffer, on-board limiter and auto-level control, and USB connectivity, allowing transfers to a computer, or recording directly to a computer or iPad using the USB audio interface mode.

When it comes to field recording, Sound Devices continues to push the envelope with its expanded range of solutions. With the new MixPre-10T, the Reedsburg, Wisconsin, -based company now offers a compact, 10-input/12 tracks of polyphonic WAV file recording and mixer with an expanded feature set, including built-in Timecode generator and reader, balanced outputs, diverse powering, and auto copying. An ideal solution for production sound mixers, field recordists, sound designers, and musicians.

Sound Devices introduced its next generation 12-input, 16-track portable mixer/recorder. The new 688 is the center of an extensible mixing and recording system incorporating MixAssist, Sound Devices automatic mixing technology. The 688 accepts the new SL-6 SuperSlot powering and wireless accessory and simplifies power distribution and interconnection.

Aaton Digital is already shipping its new Cantar X3 24-track portable recorder, building on the success of the previous Cantar X2 model, much expanded in terms of track count, analogue inputs, digital inputs - both AES and Dante - and in a new futuristic chassis with silent controls. Designed by the same team that created its predecessor, the Aaton Cantar X3 introduces a new human interface with new display based menu control.
