ESS Technology Introduces New Stereo High Performance CODEC

With market demand for encoder/decoder solutions on the rise, ESS Technology introduced a new SABRE CODEC that integrates its newest generation high performance stereo analog and digital channels in a single chip. The new ESS ES9290 is a synchronous CODEC incorporating both stereo ADCs and DACs that provide ultra-low noise conversion with a dynamic range (DNR) of +116dB/+116dB, and with THD+N rated at -108dB/-110dB (ADC/DAC respectively) per channel.

ESS Technology released its new 2 channel ES9826 SABRE Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). The new device combines effectively two integrated ADC circuits which use ESS’ patented Hyperstream IV ADC architecture, and a front-end PGA. Together, the new SABRE ADC device delivers high quality audio with a DNR of +123dB and a THD+N of -105dB, setting another industry benchmark for the company in terms of audio performance, features, and cost effectiveness.

ESS Technology announced a completely new series of SABRE PRO and SABRE Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) with an Ultra Low Noise Floor Bandwidth of 200kHz. According to the Californian company, the noise floor bandwidth on the new devices is up to 10 times wider than the competition, enabling higher resolution at higher sample rates. The two new SABRE PRO, and two new SABRE ADC devices set a new benchmark for audio performance with unmatched specifications and the highest sample rate available in the market.

ESS Technology announced the ES8018 Sabre Smart Power-Amplifier (SPA), a new-generation device designed to boost the audio quality and efficiency of phones, tablets, wireless speakers, and even the smallest connected wearable devices. According to the Californian company, the ES8018 combines major advances in amplifier design with advanced speaker-protection algorithms, creating a revolutionary new amplifier design in the smallest solution available currently to the industry.
