Wavecor Introduces Three New High-End Drivers Covering All Frequency Ranges

Renowned high-end OEM manufacturer Wavecor continues to keep a focus on creativity and announced the results of its latest development efforts with three new drivers, all now in stock and ready for sampling. The new transducers comprise the WF275BD01 (4 ohm) and WF275BD02 (8 ohm) 10" mid/woofers in die cast frame, the TW022WA07/09 and TW022WA08/10 high-end tweeters, and the FR070WA05 70 mm aluminum-cone full-range driver with extended bass response.

In this Test Bench, the focus is the Dayton Audio DMA58-4, a new 2" full-range line array/smart speaker from Dayton Audio. DMA stands for Dual Magnet Aluminum Cone and the series already includes five models of full-range drivers, all using a proprietary 12-spoke injection-molded frame. This frame is very open to reduce reflections back into the cone and also has a very generous mounting flange making multiple driver arrays cosmetically attractive and compact. Responding to the exponential growth in turntable sales, Audio-Technica introduced its VM-Type moving magnet phono cartridges, employing the company’s patented V-shaped Dual Magnet design along with a host of modern improvements. The nine models in the VM lineup include three different cartridge bodies and three different stylus shapes, to deliver optimized playback of all types of stereo, mono and 78 RPM records.

This Test Bench features the TiCW 1058Ft, a 10” woofer/subwoofer from Morel’s Ultimate Titanium product line. The TiCW 1058Ft has an impressive feature set that includes a cast 12-spoke (six “double” spokes) cast-aluminum frame that is completely vented (except for the spokes) below the spider mounting shelf for cooling across the top plate.
