DSP Group Selects Synopsys ARC EM Processor IP for Adaptive Processing Smart Codecs

Synopsys announced that DSP Group selected Synopsys DesignWare ARC EM5D Processor IP for its high-efficiency control and signal processing capabilities to enable development of its DBMC2-TWS advanced adaptive processing audio codec for true wireless stereo (TWS) headsets. To dynamically configure settings and filter parameters on-the-fly, the DBMC2-TWS integrates an ARC EM5D processor, abundant internal memory and numerous digital interfaces.

Start the USB4 roll out! Synopsys, introduced the industry's first complete DesignWare USB4 IP solution consisting of controllers, routers, PHYs, and verification IP. The DesignWare USB4 IP operates at up to 40 Gbps, which is twice the maximum data rate of USB 3.2 and is backwards compatible with USB 3.x and USB 2.0 systems. The DesignWare USB4 IP supports multiple high-speed interface protocols, including USB4, DisplayPort 1.4a TX, PCI Express, and Thunderbolt 3 for efficient data transfer and simultaneous delivery of data, power, and high-resolution video through a single USB Type-C cable.

Synopsys collaborated with Fraunhofer IIS to release an implementation of the LC3 codec, part of the next-generation Bluetooth LE Audio specification. The new LC3 codec is optimized to deliver high-quality audio and voice playback in battery-powered devices incorporating ARC EM and HS DSP processors, and expands Synopsys' DesignWare Bluetooth Low Energy IP offerings and the portfolio of DesignWare ARC audio codecs and post-processing software.

Synopsys announced its DesignWare IP solution to accelerate development of SoCs delivering secure video, data and power over a single USB Type-C connector. Synopsys new DesignWare USB-C 3.1/DisplayPort 1.3 IP subsystems, prototyping kits and software development kits create a comprehensive development platform for USB Type-C IP designs, allowing flexible hardware and software partitioning to implement differentiating USB Type-C features while maintaining USB Type-C compatibility.
