Schurter Launches Upgraded TA35 and TA36 Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers

Schurter has a long tradition with circuit breakers. In addition to their thermal release (bimetal), the classic TA35 and TA36 are now optionally equipped with an additional magnetic module, which promises reliable protection within milliseconds in the event of very high overcurrent (short circuit). The new TA35 / TA36 circuit breakers now offer thermal and magnetic tripping for protection against overcurrent in accordance with IEC 60934 standard, with a wide range of design options and finely graduated rated currents.

Femtosense, in partnership with ABOV Semiconductor in South Korea, has launched the AI-ADAM-100, an artificial intelligence microcontroller unit (AI MCU) built on sparse AI technology to enable on-device AI features such as voice-based control in home appliances and other products. According to the Silicon Valley startup, the new AI-ADAM-100 AI MCU is a low-power, low-cost option for on-device language processing and voice-cleanup capabilities.

LG Acquires Dutch Startup Athom to Accelerate its AI-Enabled Smart-Home Ecosystem

The story was out for a few days, but now it's officially confirmed that LG Electronics recently acquired an 80 percent stake in Athom, the Dutch smart home company based in Enschede, Netherlands. Known for its Homey smart home platform, the startup was struggling and lacked the scale that LG will provide. The agreement includes plans for LG to acquire the remaining 20 percent within the next three years. LG will maintain Athom as a separate operation, while expanding its own open smart home ecosystems globally.
