miniDSP Introduces Flex HT 8x8 DSP Processor with WiSA Wireless Home Theater

miniDSP announced its latest Flex HT home theater processor, a compact multichannel processor with HDMI ARC/eARC capabilities and WiSA wireless audio. The miniDSP team was able to cram a full eight channels of DSP power, with eight-channel audio input via linear PCM over USB Audio or HDMI eARC, with an additional stereo input supported over SPDIF and TOSLINK optical. Output is available in 8 analog channels and 24-bit/48kHz fixed latency wireless for WiSA-compatible speakers.

Mesanovic CDM65 Studio Monitor Speaker Earns WiSA HT Interoperability Certification

WiSA Association announced that its member company Mesanovic has earned the WiSA HT Interoperability Certification with its new CDM65 Controlled Directivity Monitor speaker. The CDM65 is an active three-way state-of-the-art speaker design, with built-in digital signal processing and the ability to receive wireless audio from any WiSA transmitter, like the WiSA SoundSend. This allows the CDM65 to be paired up to a 7.1 setup. The system will ship in May 2023 and is available for pre-order.

The app was presented to CEDIA Expo 2022 visitors and its initial launch opens new full control possibilities.

WiSA LLC, a subsidiary of WiSA Technologies, Inc., announced that Hisense’s 2022 U7H and U8H Series TVs have earned WiSA SoundSend Certification. In 2021, the WiSA SoundSend Certification program was launched to ensure effortless and simple connection and interoperability between smart TVs and the WiSA SoundSend wireless audio transmitter. Do audio technologies matter in the Smart Home? The audio industry needs to get involved in this convergence and interoperability effort. After all, we can already tell a speaker to play a song - thanks to voice recognition technology, AI, and wireless networks - but we still don’t have a transparent wireless audio standard to stream audio to speakers or headphones because basically audio remains restricted by specifications that were not written with audio in mind.
