Mesanovic CDM65 Studio Monitor Speaker Earns WiSA HT Interoperability Certification

February 8 2023, 00:35
WiSA Association announced that its member company Mesanovic has earned the WiSA HT Interoperability Certification with its new CDM65 Controlled Directivity Monitor speaker. The CDM65 is an active three-way state-of-the-art speaker design, with built-in digital signal processing and the ability to receive wireless audio from any WiSA transmitter, like the WiSA SoundSend. This allows the CDM65 to be paired up to a 7.1 setup. The system will ship in May 2023 and is available for pre-order.

Mesanovic is a brand new company in the speaker space. Founded by Deni Mesanovic and headquartered in Detroit, MI, the company initially brought to the market a ribbon microphone, which was also the product of its founder thesis at the University of Michigan. Now the company introduced its first speaker, the CDM65 - Controlled Directivity Monitor, 3-way active DSP design with controlled directivity down to 150Hz. The CDM65 is a WiSA certified speaker and comes with an optional Stereo Hub, allowing for wireless audio transmission. The Hub also features built in DSP with automatic room correction which can be accessed using the iOS Mesanovic App, and also offers the ability to manually EQ the response to a user’s preference.

"We are very proud to deliver precision accuracy, controlled directivity and wireless connectivity in a no-compromise system that studio recording engineers and audio enthusiasts alike will appreciate," says Deni Mesanovic. "Earning the Certification from WiSA and incorporating its HT technology adds immense value to this product and delivers next-generation wireless audio capabilities to our customers."

Company founder Deni Mesanovic has been involved with music production and engineering from an early age. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2013 with a degree in Sound Engineering.

In addition to working seamlessly with any WiSA transmitter, the CDM65 speaker wirelessly connects to the Platin Stereo Hub, manufactured for Mesanovic. The Stereo Hub offers an assortment of available inputs including USB Audio, HDMI Optical, RCA, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, ChromeCast, and more. Mesanovic will sell a product package complete with two CDM65 speakers and the Platin Stereo Hub.

"The performance, quality and engineering of Mesanovic’s studio-grade products are truly impressive," says Tony Ostrom, WiSA President. "The CDM65’s integrated WiSA HT technology enables the speaker to seamlessly integrate into any system configuration and deliver stunning sound wirelessly, whether used in a professional recording setting or to create the ultimate home theater experience."

For Deni Mesanovic, the most important design goal of the CDM65 was to achieve industry-leading accuracy by utilizing state-of-the-art design and measurement tools, resulting in a speaker with near perfect in-room response, controlled directivity and low distortion. The Mesanovic CDM65 delivers the unique ability to upload various predefined tunings to the speaker such as the cardioid mode, which controls the directivity of the speaker down to 150Hz. By directing the energy towards the listener and away from rear and side walls, the speaker reduces undesired room effects and the need for extensive room treatment.
