Khadas Tone2 Pro ESS-Based USB-C Audio DAC and Headphone Preamp Now Available

Khadas, a company focused on high performance single board computers for makers and developers, achieved significant success in audio-focused products, particularly with high-resolution capable ESS-based audio DACs. Following earlier success with the Tone range of add-on boards, Khadas embarked on a more ambitious project with the Tone2 Pro, which is the company's first finished product, mandatory to support MQA hardware decoding. Khadas still intends to launch a Tone2 (non-Pro) version as a DIY Kit in the future, without MQA support.

Elliptic Labs Expands its Ultrasound Sensing Framework to More Devices and Mobile Platforms

Norwegian company Elliptic Labs has successfully introduced its ultrasound sensing technology to the market, leveraging early agreements with major chip suppliers to the IT and mobile industries. Following partnerships with Texas Instruments, Infineon, Knowles, Cirrus Logic and AAC Technologies, at the implementation level, Elliptic Labs this year expanded its support directly with chipset manufacturers ARM, Intel, Qualcomm and more recently MediaTek. And the company's efforts in ultrasound-based sensing are just in early stages.

The Ultra builds upon the affordable and highly reviewed PecanPi Streamer by adding a 5” touchscreen, built-in RCA connectors, and moving all of the connections to the back of the device.

On the other hand, if my ears tell me there is a difference between two audio chains and I cannot measure it, that does not mean it is not there. Probably, I'm just using the wrong method to determine audio differences." Luxman Announces D-03X CD/Digital Media Player with Advanced Hi-Res DAC Circuit Featuring MQA Full Decoding

Luxman’s latest digital player, the D-03X, includes a host of new features such as Master Quality Authenticated full decoding for MQA files and MQA-CDs, support for DSD files up to quad rate 11.28 MHz, PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz, Bulk Pet USB transfer and fully balanced output circuitry. It looks very much like a standard CD player, but it truly is a 21st century device, with clever display features, and most importantly, with a chassis design to last including an oversized power supply and meticulous circuit selection.
