2015 Consumer Electronics Show Facts and Trends

With more than 3,600 exhibitors across the largest show floor in history with more than 2.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, breaking last year’s previously set record of 2.06 million net square feet, the 2015 International CES is poised to be a record-breaking show. Owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the 2015 International CES runs through Friday, January 9.

Intel and SMS Audio are working together on a new generation of “Fitness Wearables Biometric Headphones” intending to optimize workouts. The audio headphone and accessories brand created by rapper and entrepreneur “50 Cent” will be the first in the market with integrated biometric sensing in-ear headphones.

At the International Supercomputing Conference 2014 in Leipzig, Germany, Intel confirmed its next-generation Intel Xeon Phi Processor with integrated Intel Omni Scale Fabric to be available in the second half of 2015. The new microarchitecture will deliver up to 3 times the performance of previous generation computers.

Trigence Semiconductor announced at the Computex 2014 Show the latest generation of its Digital Speaker Modules (DSM) technology. Instead of a dedicated audio amplifier and conditioning PCB based on analog D-Class amplifier solutions, the DSM audio boards simply feed and process direct-to-speaker audio data.
