Harman Unveils Wireless HD Audio System and Announces Global Developer Community with APIs for Lifestyle Products

During the IFA 2014 show in Berlin there were several major technology announcements from Harman consumer division. Leveraging the advances on Wi-Fi technology, Harman announced its new Wireless HD Audio System as “a breakthrough in high-quality wireless home streaming.” Harman also announced APIs for its lifestyle products will be made available for developers working on media streaming, audio applications, and advanced connected applications.

“We weren’t going to replace the QC15 headphones unless we had something that was better and different - and the QC25 is both.” That’s how Bose introduced its QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones, combining an entirely new design, greater portability, better noise reduction and audio performance.

Panasonic announced the return of Technics brand at the IFA2014 show in Berlin, reaffirming its original promise of “technology that faithfully reproduces original sounds”. New Technics-branded hi-fi audio systems will be released first in the European market in December 2014 and later in other parts of the world.

As usual, the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin is the stage for many industry announcements and a good share of award ceremonies. Among those, none is more important than the European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA) Awards, featuring more than 20 audio categories. OPPO’s PM-1 received the Best European Hi-Fi Headphone award.

Sennheiser’s CEOs Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser are talking about ”Shaping the Future of Audio“ at the IFA International Keynotes this year and the company is expanding its consumer headphone range with new MOMENTUM in-ears, the new URBANITE range, and new CX earphone series.
