At CES 2019, Sony is not focusing so much on products and mainly highlighting content and experiences instead. Among those, Sony is promoting an all new music experience called "360 Reality Audio,” delivered by MPEG-H object-based spatial audio technology developed in collaboration with Fraunhofer IIS and promoted as “a new musical ecosystem for content creation, distribution and music playback.”

DiGiCo confirmed the acquisition of German company KLANG:technologies as a key new addition to the Audiotonix family that already includes leading audio brands Allen & Heath, Calrec, DiGiGrid, Solid State Logic and DiGiCo. The deal, which was concluded in early December 2018, brings a key new addition to the Audiotonix group of companies, comprising four of the leading brands in studio, live sound and broadcast audio mixing consoles, and adding a completely new category, with the addition of a pioneering company in the field of personal monitoring and immersive 3D audio solutions.

Sweden’s Dirac Research has developed a breakthrough 3D audio solution for gaming headsets that creates for an intensely immersive and lifelike aural experience. Now the company confirmed that the Dirac audio surround sound technology has already been licensed by a leading Chinese consumer technology manufacturer – with more to come. The Chinese manufacturer has licensed Dirac’s technology for a gaming headset that will debut in the second half of 2018.
