Genelec Opens Berlin Experience Center

Genelec opened a Genelec Experience Centre in central Berlin - a brand new demonstration facility that provides visitors with a high quality critical listening environment from stereo to immersive, and allows Genelec to showcase its wide range of studio monitors and AV and Home Audio loudspeakers. The new Berlin location joins existing Experience Centre facilities in Europe and Asia.

A group of stakeholders from the Rare Earth supply chain met recently for The Global Rare Earth Industry Association Conference, June 25- 27 in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting was also the first General Assembly to establish a global association to develop an integrated, de-risked and sustainable value chain for rare earth materials. The Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA) was founded by 12 organisations, including Italian loudspeaker manufacturer B&C Speakers, which was already part of a European-funded project committed to the reuse of rare-earth magnets.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has announced the organizing committee and keynote address for the upcoming AES Dublin Convention, taking place March 20 – 23, 2019, at the Convention Centre in Dublin, Ireland. For its 146th International Convention, the association makes its first trip to Dublin, Ireland, set to “Excite Your Ears” as the preeminent European pro audio event of the year. Genelec announced the return of Michael Bohlin to the brand that brought him into the professional audio industry, almost 25 years ago. Taking the title International Sales Manager, Bohlin, a well known and highly respected figure in the European industry, will be based in Stockholm. Reporting to International Sales Director Ole Jensen, he will be responsible for the development and support of distributor, dealer and key user networks for Genelec’s professional monitoring segment within Europe.

Following distribution appointments for North America, Merging is now confirming agreements with companies who will be handling the NADAC network-attached DAC market - high-end consumer segment - all over the world. In some cases, like China, Merging established a new company to address this market efficiently and separate it from the professional business.

The Audio Engineering Society is striving to bring back its European conventions to the audio industry’s agenda, focusing on the promotion of the latest in audio research, developments and technologies. For 2016, the AES has confirmed its 140th International Convention will return to Paris, France.
