Cadence Design Systems and Waves Audio announced the availability of the Waves Nx Virtual Reality Audio Technology on the Cadence Tensilica HiFi 3 DSP for Audio, Voice, and Speech. The Waves Nx solution, which delivers high-quality VR audio and true 5.1 or 7.1 surround with a minimal resource footprint, will be demonstrated at the Cadence booth at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 27 to March 2, 2017, in Hall 6, Stand 6L36.

QSC Promotes Demonstration of Q-SYS Software Running on Standard Dell Server Hardware

QSC called its demonstration at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show, "a glimpse into the future of Audio, Video and Control Processing". The demonstration was an industry-first preview, running existing Q-SYS software on standard Dell server hardware, highlighting the shift from stand-alone single-purpose proprietary DSP hardware to a highly scalable, standards-based IT platform and architecture. During ISE 2017, QSC also introduced a new Q-SYS processor and peripherals.

Specifically to serve the growing number of Internet of Things (IoT) applications, Intel announced the Intel Cyclone 10 family of FPGAs. Designed to deliver fast and power-efficient processing, they have a variety of uses, including for automotive, industrial automation, pro audio visual and vision systems.

Audeze launched its first in-ear headphones with planar magnetic technology, leveraging all the technology of its LCD series, including patented Fluxor magnets and Fazor waveguides. The new iSINE Series models range in price from only $399 to $599, including Audeze’s Lightning cable. For the new in-ear headphones, Audeze worked closely with BMW’s DesignworksUSA, designing housings that minimize reflections and diffractions and to ensure a comfortable, secure fit, in a smaller, lighter package. At 20 grams, these are the lightest planar headphones so far.

Lippett, a 10-year veteran of XMOS, previously held VP Engineering and COO roles within the business. Prior to XMOS, he served as CTO of Ignios, and held engineering and marketing roles at Texas Instruments, Lucent and Madge Networks. Outgoing CEO, Nigel Toon, has assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
