Tektronix Delivers Automated USB Type-C Compliance and Debugging Solutions

As manufacturers intensify their efforts to meet consumer demand for ever faster data downloads, from live streaming videos to global videoconferences, multiple industries are now accelerating adoption of the latest USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 specifications over USB Type-C connectors. Tektronix announced three new testing solutions to help drive these efforts, which can easily be integrated into test environments, enabling higher speed data transfers.

CEVA, a leading licensor of signal processing solutions for connected devices, announced that it has completed qualification testing of its Bluetooth 5 Low Energy (LE) IP, including all the new optional Bluetooth 5 features using the recognized Ellisys Bluetooth Qualifier (EBQ) Compliance Tester, that ensures industry-standard compatibility and interoperability for Bluetooth certified products.

Tektronix announced an automated USB 3.1 Type-C transmitter test solution for Gen1 and Gen 2 that combines full SigTest support with DPOJET debug and analysis tools, allowing designers to bring devices with improved margins to market in less time. The new solution delivers 100 percent compliance test coverage as well as full support for the new Type-C connector, fixtures and associated channel tests.

USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), the support organization for the advancement and adoption of USB technology, announced a Certified USB Charger Compliance and Logo Program to establish USB chargers for compliant USB Type-C devices including laptops, tablets, smartphones, docking stations, displays and other products. Based upon the USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery specifications, Certified USB Chargers will display a new logo identifying the power capability in watts.

Keysight Technologies announced the availability of a newly updated Method of Implementation (MOI) document for cable and connector assembly compliance tests defined in Rev. 1.1 of the USB Type-C specification and Rev. 1.0 of the USB Type-C Compliance Test Specification (CTS). The step-by-step document provides measurement procedures for compliance testing USB Type-C cables and connectors in the time and frequency domains, using the ENA Network Analyzer.
