The Hideaway TL Sub

This article, a Danish blueprint for an “invisible” subwoofer was originally published in audioXpress July 2006 and it is the first of two by Bjorn Johannesen. In this first article, the author describes a successful transmission line to replace a vented sub, inspired by Rick Schultz articles. A project where the first approach revealed a resonance frequency lower than expected — lower than the driver’s Fs, leading him to study Martin J. King’s quarter wave design.

Acoustica Beyma has recently announced its new App, Beyma Speakers, allowing full access to its extended professional speaker catalogue, directly on mobile phones and tablets, both Apple and Android. At the same time, the Spanish manufacturer continues to expand its website information, now with support for Chinese language.

As promised, at the 2015 Prolight+Sound show, in Frankfurt, Beyma introduced its new WR low frequency 10WR300, 12WR400 and 15WR400 drivers for small and medium sized vented cabinets. Beyma also introduced the new 8CX300Fe 8” coaxial driver designed for full range applications and previewed upgraded versions of the 15P1000FeV2, 12P80NdV2 and 8P300Fe/N low frequency transducers.

Beyma introduced its WR family, which is composed by three new designed low frequency drivers: 10” (10WR300), 12” (12WR400) and 15” (15WR400). The WR family was designed to replace the existing SM family, to be discontinued in January 2016, and was first introduced at the 2015 NAMM Show.

Acustica Beyma announced the appointment of Mehmed Murtic as Corporate & Business Developement Executive. With this appointment the Spanish loudspeaker manufacturer strengthens its key account management at global level.

Beyma will be present at the 2015 NAMM Show from January 22-25, exhibiting at the Arena Hall, Booth 7310. The Spanish loudspeaker specialist will display some of its latest products and introduce a new speaker family, the WR Series, aiming for a wide range of target applications. For the moment Beyma only confirms that the series will feature 10”, 12” and 15” woofers.

Acustica Beyma, the recognized manufacturer of professional loudspeakers from Valencia (Spain), celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. This was also the 40th anniversary the company attended the Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound 2014 show in Frankfurt, and Beyma had lots of new products on display.
