Dirac and ASUS Push the Boundaries of Mobile Sound in the New ASUS ROG Phone 6

Swedish digital audio processing specialist Dirac and ASUS, the manufacturer of electronics, computers and mobile phones confirmed a collaboration on the new Republic of Gamers (ROG) Phone 6 series of gaming-oriented smartphones. These new models from the specialty brand - intended to establish a new standard in mobile audio - feature improved sound technology and Dirac Virtuo spatial audio to fully immerse gamers in the heart of the action.

Swedish digital audio processing pioneer Dirac and ASUS, the electronics powerhouse, have raised the bar on mobile audio with the new ASUS ROG Phone 5, which features a new level of sound fidelity for a smartphone with dual speakers, delivering a spatial soundscape and accurate stereo sound localization. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 now becomes the first smartphone to feature Dirac’s breakthrough MIMO mixed phase speaker co-optimization technology.

On the heels of the company's recent ROG (Republic of Gamers) Phone 3 collaboration, Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac and ASUS, a global manufacturer of smartphones, computers and electronics, announced that all ROG Phone 3-compatible gaming headsets have now been upgraded with Dirac’s headphone optimization solution through a recent “over-the-air” software update.

Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology has been adopted by ASUS for its latest ROG (Republic of Gamers) Delta S headphones. The headset, was designed to offer superior audio quality for gaming enthusiasts, being equipped with a Hi-Res ESS Quad-DAC and large, high-quality drivers, allowing gamers to enjoy music streamed in high resolution. That is, for those that don't mind listening to music while their headphones glow constantly due to the circular RGB lighting effect! But at least the ROG Delta S are a comfortable USB-C design for PCs, consoles and mobile gaming.

The Mobile World Congress 2016, in Barcelona, is the place chosen to unveil “exciting” developments in mobile devices, while the world waits for Apple to unveil the latest iPhone. But at least it allows companies like DTS to actually have smartphones and tablets featuring advanced audio technologies such as Headphone:X immersive processing and Play-Fi wireless home audio.

As usual, the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin is the stage for many industry announcements and a good share of award ceremonies. Among those, none is more important than the European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA) Awards, featuring more than 20 audio categories. OPPO’s PM-1 received the Best European Hi-Fi Headphone award.
