New Audio- and Music-Oriented Apps for Apple Watch

And we’re off! Apple started shipping its Apple Watch device to a few lucky million who pre-ordered online. Many of those first-owners are in fact developers who needed to actually have a Watch to test their application ideas. Surprisingly, Apple reached 3,500 available Apple Watch apps on day 1. As expected, some are music and audio oriented.

Sennheiser and Apogee have launched new digital clip-on mics at the 2015 NAB show. The new ClipMic digital and MKE 2 digital microphones allow professional-quality sound recordings with iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with Lightning connectors. Apogee also developed an iOS app for 24-bit/96kHz recording and an Apple Watch remote control app.

The evidence about how important the Apple Watch is comes from many other recent announcements, including some made at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona. Security, IoT interoperability, wearables, computer vision, communications infrastructure, and ultra-low power connectivity were some of the trends at MWC 2015. It's not by chance that, all those things are effectively combined on the Apple Watch and Apple's current roadmap.

Between May and October this year, Futuresource Consulting interviewed more than 8,000 people about their intent to buy wearable technology and saw a significant increase in the intent to purchase. There was a 50% increase in intention to buy fitness trackers and a 125% increase in intention to buy smartwatches.
