AVnu Alliance Announces First Certified AVB Audio Endpoint Reference Platform From XMOS

The AVnu Alliance announced the first Certified audio endpoint reference platform from XMOS for Audio Video Bridging (AVB) network solutions. The newly AVnu-certified XMOS AVB hardware and software reference platform is a production-ready solution for multiple applications, from single speakers and microphones to complex multichannel mixing desks and multi-port conferencing systems.

In July 2014, Mark of The Unicorn (MOTU) surprised the industry announcing a range of USB/Thunderbolt audio interfaces complemented with Audio Video Bridging (IEEE 802.1 AVB) network technology. Since AVB requires the use of dedicated (AVB-certified) routers and switchers, MOTU also announced its own AVB Switch. Now, MOTU reinforced the range with two new AVB 24-channel interfaces.

The AVnu Alliance Membership is growing and leading to more AVB products in the AVnu certification pipeline. Eight new companies from different parts of the world and industries have now joined its membership roster including Coveloz, Imagination Technologies, NXP Semiconductors, intoPIX, Ixia, MIPRO, Xavtel and Pivitec.
