Tymphany and Exeger To Launch Self-Powered Speaker at CES 2024

October 24 2023, 05:10
Exeger, the manufacturer of Powerfoyle energy-harvesting technology, announced a partnership with Tymphany, the manufacturer of audio systems, acoustic modules and drivers and one of the largest OEM/ODMs in the audio industry, to produce a self-powered speaker which will be unveiled at CES 2024. Tymphany's Hybrid-life Green Speaker, under development, will be powered by Exeger's patented solar cell technology, which converts all forms of light into electricity.

Following the historical breakthrough that was the launch of the Urbanista Malibu portable speaker at IFA Berlin 2023, the first in the world to be powered by Exeger solar cells membrane, Tymphany is working on the concept of a hybrid-life Green Speaker that can be used both as a speaker to play music, as well as a conference room speaker. The concept will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (January 9-12, 2023) and will showcased the design possibilities using Exeger's patented solar cell technology, Powerfoyle, which converts all forms of light (both natural outdoor and artificial indoor) into clean, endless energy.

According to Tymphany, the concept speaker has been designed with versatility at its core. Not only delivering excellent sound quality when playing music at home, but also being equipped with a specially designed array of microphones to enable it to be used as a conference room speaker.

Tymphany aspired to offer a sustainable and hassle-free alternative to conventional speakers which are powered only by cables, making the Hybrid-life Green Speaker a smarter choice for environmentally-conscious consumers and businesses.

Powerfoyle is the world’s only fully customizable solar cell and can be made into almost any shape or form. Its thin and flexible design has allowed Tymphany to seamlessly integrate the solar cell into the speaker without compromising on visual aesthetics.

"Products like Hybrid-life Green Speak shine a light on the harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology and environmental responsibility," says Georgios Foufas, Exeter's Chief Commercial Officer. "Our collaboration with Tymphany, one of the industry’s leading ODMs, represents a significant leap forward in the evolution of sustainable audio products. As market demand for sustainable speakers continues to grow, Hybrid-life Green Speaker perfectly showcases the significant role that Powerfoyle will have in the move towards a more eco-conscious future. Products like Hybrid-life Green Speaker shine a light on the harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology and environmental responsibility."

Sebastiaan de Vries, CMO of Tymphany adds: "We are delighted with our partnership with Exeger, a company that shares our commitment to making a positive impact on the environment. By integrating Exeger's Powerfoyle technology into our holistic green speaker design, we are able to achieve both exceptional efficiency and an eco-friendly approach to innovation. Together, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of sustainable technology and improving people’s lives."

Exeger's Powerfoyle enhances every product it is integrated into with extended or even unlimited battery life, putting the power of cutting-edge solar cell technology directly in the hands of consumers. Exeger is leading the way to energy independence through more sustainable and user-friendly products – with the vision to touch the lives of a billion people by 2030.
