TP Vision To Introduce Philips Branded Self-Powered Products at CES 2024

November 28 2023, 00:35
Exeger announced a strategic partnership with TP Vision, the company responsible for design, manufacturing, and sales of Philips branded TV and audio products, to integrate Exeger's ground-breaking solar cell technology, Powerfoyle, into Philips consumer electronics products. Philips sport headphones with Powerfoyle technology will be launched at CES 2024, together with another product in a different segment.

Focusing on Powerfoyle's key metrics of performance, sustainability, design and integration, TP Vision is the latest consumer electronics company to confirm the intention to quickly launch the light-harvesting technology and include Powerfoyle as the power source in its portable products. The partnership with Exeger will focus on integrating Powerfoyle solar cells into an array of consumer electronics, starting with two products to be unveiled at CES 2024.

With a rich history of technological advancements, TP Vision is focused on design and innovation, offering cutting-edge consumer electronics with a focus on performance, user experience, product quality and European design. TP Vision offers a wide range of Philips branded TVs, and audio products, which include headphones, true wireless earbuds, home theater speakers, soundbars, and portable speakers. In this latter category, TP Vision has created the AOC brand of urban lifestyle portable speakers, which is likely the one to most benefit from Exeger's technology.

Exeger Powerfoyle is a solar cell membrane that can power consumer electronics using all forms of light, both indoor artificial light and outdoor sunlight. Powerfoyle is unique in its ability to efficiently convert any light into energy to continuously power any device. The integration of Powerfoyle provides consumers with virtually endless battery life and removing the need to charge from the grid or replace batteries.

Powerfoyle is also the world’s only fully customizable solar cell. The membrane is flexible and can be made in almost any shape or form with over a hundred different patterns and textures available, making it possible for brands to integrate Powerfoyle while retaining the design DNA of their products.

Powerfoyle solar cells are manufactured in two factories in Sweden using 100% renewable energy and emitting no toxic emissions. The factories boast a combined annual capacity of 2,5 million square meters when fully scaled. Powerfoyle is non-toxic and made from abundantly available raw materials. Designed for longevity, it is durable and undergoes rigorous testing.

"TPV and Exeger are committed to creating advanced, high-quality, beautiful products focused on a seamless user experience. With TPV's track record for innovation in consumer electronics and Exeger’s Powerfoyle offering clean, endless power to any device, this partnership will produce groundbreaking products. Together, we will set a new standard of convenience and sustainability," comments Giovanni Fili, CEO and founder of Exeger.

Explaining the rationale for the partnership with Exeger, Kostas Vouzas, CEO of TP Vision Europe and Americas, states: "Genuine innovation, sustainability and an improved user experience are core values at the heart of our business. We believe our partnership with Exeger will bring unique benefits to our customers by offering the same product performance and design qualities without the need to find, charge and replace batteries. TP Vision has a history of partnering with European based specialist companies and I believe Exeger will help us to provide better product solutions that are at the same time more sustainable."

TP Vision Europe B.V. (‘TP Vision’) is registered in the Netherlands, with its head office in Amsterdam. TP Vision is a wholly owned company of TPV Technology Limited (‘TPV’), which is one of the world’s leading monitor and TV manufacturers. Philips-branded audio products are globally offered under a trademark license with Koninklijke Philips N.V.
