With the entirely new TAD EL34-STR REDBASE, Tube Amp Doctor introduces a new model in its high quality premium tube line called REDBASE. The TAD EL34-STR REDBASE was designed in the tradition of the legendary Telefunken EL34, delivering “a gorgeous, dynamic and amazingly open tone with just the right amount of angry bite,” as the company describes it.
According to Tube Amp Doctor Musikhandels GmbH, the new tube offers the classic EL34 sound, with “superb responsiveness and outstanding dynamics,” ideal for the desired British midrange punch with “harmonious low-mids, powerful and well-defined bass range, and clear, harmonic and open highs.” Designed with the brand’s high precision construction and bullet-proof reliability, as required for musical instrument amplification, the new TAD EL34-STR REDBASE is a completely new development.
As Tube Amp Doctor details, the TAD EL34-STR REDBASE tubes are manufactured with extra rugged glass envelope, golden control grid wire, two especially large cooling grids, and special high-precision construction with the smallest tolerances, in order to achieve maximum stability and reliability.
“The TAD REDBASE line is built on an optimized production line - exclusively for TAD and only for this series. It is therefore a completely new development, combining the latest manufacturing techniques with traditional design and impeccable quality,” the company says. All tubes in the line are carefully tested, matched and selected.
In preparation for the company’s exclusive premium matching process, all TAD REDBASE tubes receive a special and additional burn-in and formatting process in Germany, optimizing the quality of the cathode emission and achieving an exceptionally detailed sound structure.
