AES Vegas 2021 Canceled
AES Fall Online 2021 Proceeding as Scheduled
Due to the evolving realities of the COVID pandemic, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced its decision to cancel their in-person Las Vegas convention. The AES convention was collocated with the NAB Show, and following the NAB announcement, the AES decided to cancel the in-person AES Show Las Vegas 2021, planned for October 10 – 13.

The AES Fall Online program will proceed, with events taking place online between October 16 – 31, including a broadly focused technical program October 20 – 23. The AES stated: "We apologize for the change in plans, but we hope you understand that it was not feasible to continue as planned. Please focus on your continued health and safety, and hopefully, 2022 can see the much-anticipated return of in-person Audio Engineering Society community events."

The AES will now converge the full program in its AES Fall Online 2021 online event, taking place October 20 – 23, together with additional Audio Builders Workshop, AoIP, Immersive Audio and Audio Education online elements completing the 151st AES International Convention program.

Session details are now online, offering highlights and information on the over 150 sessions being presented by industry leaders on topics ranging from recording and production to sound reinforcement, broadcast and streaming, immersive audio, audio education and beyond. Registration and interactive schedules are available now at AESShow.com.

This fall’s AES Show affords attendees new ways to experience many of its most exciting sessions, while offering post-event streamcast replay, exclusive events and more. In addition to the popular Platinum Producers, Engineers and Mastering panels, featured events will also include an NFT creation tutorial and a unique and timely session “Anatomy of a Hit Album Under Quarantine – Harmonium Symphonique,” which will detail how a symphonic re-interpretation of the music of influential 1970's Montreal-based progressive folk-rock band Harmonium was recorded, mixed and mastered during the pandemic through a long-distance collaboration between engineers in Montreal and Los Angeles.
