5th International AES Conference on Automotive Audio, June 26-28, 2024

March 8 2024, 14:10
The next Audio Engineering Society’s biennial conference on Automotive Audio will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 26-28 June. The location is the Uni3 Geely Center, right at the heart of Volvo headquarters. With the 2024 event of this popular international conference approaching, the organizing committee is reporting strong industry support and anticipation for a very strong program, and great car demos.

International AES automotive audio conferences are always a great networking opportunity, where hundreds of automotive audio professionals meet and where the latest research papers are presented. For the 2024 edition, the event will be augmented with the possibility to see the latest technology demos and experience the future sound of automotive.

Over the last 20 years, Automotive Audio has changed dramatically with vehicles becoming a true multichannel immersive environment, where systems are fully integrated and adjusted to the specific car. With the evolution to fully electric vehicles, requiring a completely new approach to interior acoustics and awareness and assistance systems, today some of the most advanced sound technologies are being developed and applied in Automotive Audio.

With multiple streaming-, content-, and app service providers also becoming more established in the sector, Automotive Audio is also becoming part of the connected experience that is being pursued by the automotive industry.

The 2023 AES automotive audio conference will give participants an overview of the present state-of-the-art in some specific topics and address many of the new scientific disciplines, such as artificial intelligence for automotive audio, app applications, virtual acoustics, and voice & speech. The presentations will also address systems integration, bus systems, new loudspeaker drive units, signal processing (DSP), NVH, and more.

3 full days of workshops, demonstrations, peer reviewed papers, and in-person networking at the Uni3 Geely Center in Gothenburg.
Submissions for papers and workshops are still being accepted. The deadlines are close: March 17 for workshops and April 17 for peer-reviewed papers.

Registration for the conference is schedule to start in March 2024. The previous AES automotive conference in Dearborn, Michigan was the most well attended and successful so far, but "Gothenburg is shaping up to break the record," according to Roger Shively (Shively Acoustics International), conference vice-chair & treasurer. "We can hardly wait to reunite with old friends and partners, but are even more excited to see new faces and hear from new voices in Automotive Audio — perhaps that’s you! Fancy summertime in Sweden?"

The conference is chairred by Rafael Kassier (Harman Automotive), Barbara Nauerth (Arkamys) is responsible for Communications, with Samira Mohamady (AUDI) as the Papers Chair, and Greg Sikora (Harman Automotive) the Papers Vice-Chair. Veronique Larcher (Sennheiser Mobility), Brad Hamme (Harman Automotive), and Sofia Checa (Sennheiser) are in charge of the Workshops.

There are a number of hotels available within walking distance or public transit of the conference venue. It is recommended to make a booking in advance. The closest airport is Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport (GOT).
