October 11 2023, 01:10
Sony Electronics unveiled its new INZONE Buds, new truly wireless gaming earbuds with ANC, the new INZONE H5 gaming headset, and a black color option for the INZONE H9 headset. The new designs expand the well-received INZONE gaming design, packed with technology and all models are Bluetooth LE Audio-ready. The new INZONE Buds offer both PC and console gamers a low latency gaming experience using a USB transceiver, personalized sound, and up to 12 hours of battery life.

When Sony demonstrated and introduced the original INZONE H9 gaming headset it surprised positively for the bold design with futuristic lines - inspired by the PlayStation 5, and letting be known that the INZONE would soon expand with other models. The new Sony INZONE truly wireless gaming earbuds now offer the industry’s longest battery life in the form factor, while the new INZONE H5 wireless headset offers an astonishing 28 hours of uninterrupted gameplay, ensuring comfort during extended gaming sessions. The existing INZONE H9, recognized also for its exceptional noise-cancellation, audio quality, and comfort, is now available in a new Black color option.

The INZONE Buds join the acclaimed INZONE range as Sony's first truly wireless gaming earbuds with less than 30ms low latency and a stunning new design that reduces contact with the ear, allowing for longer use with increased comfort. Both the INZONE Buds and INZONE H5 and H9 products are based on Sony's latest Bluetooth 5.3 wireless audio platform and are Bluetooth LE Audio-ready and already used the LC3 codec for lowest latency. With 360 Spatial Sound on INZONE Buds users can hear the direction and distance of opponents, putting them one step ahead of the competition, while users will be able to tailor the sound using Sony's unique Sound Field Optimization technology.

Sound Field Optimization creates a personalized hearing profile by taking photos of the user's ears using the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer smartphone app. The INZONE Buds go one step further through the Sound Tone Personalization feature, individualized to the ear canal by playing test sounds from the driver units and using feedback microphones to measure how the sound fills the ear canal. Based on this acoustic analysis, the sound (HRTF profile) is then uploaded onto the INZONE Hub PC software, where further personalization can be done to curate a truly personalized spatial listening experience.

The new TWS earbuds also benefit from the specially engineered, high-performance Dynamic Driver X transducers, designed for wide-frequency reproduction, and originally designed for the WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds. The diaphragm structure utilizes different materials for both the dome and edge, ensuring minimal distortion and a clear sound quality while delivering an unparalleled level of auditory realism.

Obviously, benefiting also from its know-how in advanced ANC, Sony equipped the INZONE Buds with active noise cancellation capabilities, allowing users to block out background noise and focus on the game. With Ambient Sound Mode, users won't miss important sounds such as the phone ringing, dog barking, or the doorbell while still being immersed in the game.

The INZONE Buds also employ an AI DNN (Deep Neural Network algorithm), crafted from more than 500 million voice samples. This advanced AI noise reduction processor ensures the user's voice stands out, distinct from the surrounding ambient sounds so users can be heard in the action.

The new low power consumption processor L1 provides up to 12 hours of battery life in the INZONE Buds, with up to 24 hours total battery life with the charging case. The INZONE Buds come with a USB-C dongle connection that provides latency of less than 30ms for real time game play.

INZONE H5 Headset
With a lightweight build, soft-fit ear pads, lower side pressure, and advanced spatial reproduction, the H5 is a gaming headset that leverages the H9 design, minus the ANC capabilities. The INZONE H5 still features advanced spatial reproduction for enhanced focus when gaming, as well as a boom microphone to ensure clear communication. Like the H9, it allows for a 2.4GHz wireless connection and a 3.5mm wired connection, and features AI-based noise reduction to improve its bi-directional microphone during in-game calls.

All the packaging material of Sony's latest products is plastic-free (excluding coating and adhesive materials) and uses only recycled materials and non-woven cellulose, reflecting Sony's commitment to keeping the environment in mind with its products.

The new Sony INZONE Buds are available in black and white with an MSRP of $199.99 USD. The INZONE H5 Headset is available for $149.99 in black and white, and the INZONE H9 Headset now in black is available for $299.99 USD.
