Semtech’s BlueRiver Links IP-NINJAR Dante Audio Bridge with SDVoE Ecosystem

Semtech Corporation, a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, announced that IDK Corporation, the Japanese manufacturer of professional AV and broadcast equipment, has introduced an innovative new class of products that for the first time links Audinate's Dante audio networking technology with the Software Defined Video Over Ethernet (SDVoE) ecosystem powered by Semtech’s BlueRiver technology.

“By bridging two different protocols, SDVoE and Dante, we eliminate the need for third party converters and processors,” says Ryohei Iwasaki, CEO at IDK America. “The Dante Audio Bridge provides a streamlined AV system architecture with enhanced flexibility, interoperability and reliability for our customers preferring to migrate to full-featured Ethernet-based systems.”

IDK’s new IP-NINJAR/Dante Audio Bridge transcodes audio signals directly between the SDVoE and Dante protocol environments. Audio signal transport is enabled from NJR transmitters to Dante devices and from Dante devices to NJR receivers. Each NJR-AB08DAN unit can receive up to four audio streams from IP-NINJAR transmitters outputting up to eight channels in Dante protocol. Additionally, each bridge can accept up to eight-channel audio from Dante sources, outputting IP-NINJAR (SDVoE) protocol in up to four audio streams. This feature enables Dante audio embedding on HDMI signals and de-embedding through analog audio outputs at IP-NINJAR receivers.

“Semtech’s BlueRiver platform’s comprehensive audio routing interface capabilities are facilitating continued innovation within the SDVoE-based ecosystem,” says Don Shaver, Vice President of Video Products for Semtech’s Signal Integrity Products Group. “IDK’s exceptional leadership in audio distribution over Ethernet networks and advanced solutions portfolio are helping transform matrix switching in Pro AV.”

Semtech’s BlueRiver powera Ethernet to AV signal distribution applications, allowing installers and OEMs to replace proprietary AV matrix switches with off-the-shelf Ethernet networks that deliver dramatically better price/performance, flexibility and scalability. The BlueRiver platform delivers a single programmable system on chip (SoC), which can be used to replace traditional AV/KVM extenders, matrix switchers, video wall controllers and windowing processors with a simple network of transmitters, receivers and off-the-shelf Ethernet switches. BlueRiver chipsets are the foundation of SDVoE technology offering zero-latency, uncompressed 4K streaming over standard Ethernet with unique support for HDMI 2.0a and HDR. They also integrate high-fidelity video scaling, windowing and audio downmixing.

30 years on the market, IDK Corporation develops, and manufactures state-of-the-art Pro AV products. The company’s product portfolio includes multi switchers, video converters, matrix switchers, and AV over IP systems, used around the globe for corporate, educational, entertainment, healthcare, retail and surveillance systems. IDK Corporation is headquartered in Kanagawa, Japan with sales, fulfillment and service operations in USA, Europe and Asia.
