Resonado Labs Unveils Concept Marine Sound System in Partnership with Lippert

September 29 2021, 00:35
Resonado Labs unveiled a concept marine sound system at IBEX 2021, North-America's largest trade-show for the marine industry. Resonado Labs continues to design and provide proprietary audio technology to brands and manufacturers, based on its flagship Flat Core Speaker (FCS) technology. The new system was designed by Resonado in collaboration with Lippert’s Marine Group as the companies plan to partner on more marine projects in 2022.

Resonado's FCS patented loudspeaker architecture enables slim, high-performance speaker drivers that are ideal for extreme applications in automotive and marine audio. The technology was first commercially available earlier this summer in Airstream Touring Coaches and is slated to be available across the marine industry in 2022, with Lippert as its officially licensed distributor.

The concept sound system debuted at IBEX features Resonado Labs' latest full-range speaker prototypes and the first-ever subwoofer designed with FCS technology. Conference attendees were able to demo the system, which is slated to be available to boat makers for model year 2023 in package options ranging from entry-level to ultra-premium.

"By collaborating with Lippert, we’re able to bring audio innovation to the marine industry in a big way, quickly and cost-effectively. Our vision is to work together to reinvent marine audio – not only by introducing the first truly novel speaker technology the industry has seen in a hundred years, but also by providing designer systems tuned to provide experiential audio,” says Brian Youngil Cho, Resonado Labs Co-Founder and CEO.

The two companies partnered to explore incorporating FCS technology into the wide array of products manufactured by Lippert. Due to the slim form factor of speaker drivers designed with FCS technology, product designers can integrate them into tight spaces in acoustically optimal locations – locations previously left unconsidered due to a lack of mechanical and acoustic feasibility. Even in those tight spaces, speaker drivers with FCS technology can deliver a shockingly dynamic sound experience thanks to the technology’s patented motor architecture which enables pistonic behavior across a broader frequency range than conventional round speakers.

Lippert’s concept pontoon boat on display at IBEX - the SureShade Power Bimini - featured an FCS-Enabled sound system with FCS technology speaker drivers built into the poles of the frame. This design brings sound up from traditional pontoon kick plate placement to the listener’s ear level. Speaker drivers with FCS technology are also built into Lippert’s pontoon furniture backs for a sleek, futuristic aesthetic and the ability to create a more immersive sound stage.

With over 90 manufacturing and distribution facilities located throughout North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, Lippert is a global manufacturer and supplier of highly engineered products and customized solutions for the RV, marine, automotive, commercial vehicle, and building products industries, and their adjacent markets. Lippert also serves a broad array of aftermarket segments, supplying best-in-class products designed to enhance recreational pursuits, both on the road and on the water.

"Lippert and its marine brands have a long history of innovation in the marine space by taking product designs that haven’t been changed in years, sometimes decades, and reimagining them, giving the consumer a more enhanced experience. Our Power Bimini is one of those products, and integrating the sleek, premium Resonado sound system into this product truly takes the user experience to the next level,” says Jason Lippert, CEO, and President of Lippert.
