The WFM 1801 provides an ideal solution for monitoring, evaluating, measuring and displaying the levels of an incoming video signal (up to 3G SDI), providing technicians and engineers with a versatile hand-held diagnostic solution for multiple formats and applications. Power is provided via USB, which is also used for charging the internal rechargeable battery that lasts for approximately 4 hours.
These features have several benefits to the production workflow providing an accurate way to calibrate signals from video equipment, compare incoming video signals and general signal analysis. Since it’s portable, this device is suitable for on-site production, remote / at-home production and any time transporting traditional larger pieces of equipment is difficult.
The 5” integrated LCD touch-screen display provides a monochrome waveform, vector and audio monitoring for up to 16 channels. The integrated vectorscope measures the chrominance of a video signal, including hue and saturation. The device is also capable of SDI error detection and SDI cable length measurements. The 3G SDI input on BNC is complemented with a multi-format sync reference input, and there is a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio monitoring up to 16 audio channels. The metering for audio monitoring on the display can be adjusted for different scales, including digital, DIN, BBC, Nordic, and VU.
