Rohde & Schwarz and Cadence Combine EDA Simulation with Hardware Testing

Rohde & Schwarz and Cadence Design Systems have collaborated on a solution aimed at simplifying the engineering process from RF design to implementation and enhancing accuracy by using realistic signals for both simulation and testing. The new R&S VSESIM-VSS signal creation and analysis tool speeds up the development process for RF components and is particularly useful manufacturers of active components and systems.

Ellisys, a global source for test and analysis solutions for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, Thunderbolt, and other wired and wireless communications technologies, announced the availability of qualification tests supporting the release of version 5.3 of the Bluetooth Core Specification. The company also released a new suite of validation tests, called the Quality Suite, that exceed the scope of qualification test requirements defined by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).

LYNX Technik, a manufacturer of modular signal processing interfaces and test equipment from Weiterstadt, Germany, announced its new WFM 1801, a portable multi-format and multi-standard waveform monitor with built-in vectorscope and audio monitoring. For anyone working with digital video and audio signals this is a practical solution that effectively replaces the much more expensive (and heavier) rackmount or lab bench systems.

OMRON Corporation of Kyoto, Japan released its new MOS FET relay module G3VM-21MT, the first electronic component in the world to adopt a "T-type" circuit structure, consisting of compact-size and longer-lifecycle solid state relays that output signals using no physical contact, therefore minimizing the leakage current that has long been a problem with semiconductor test equipment. The new G3VM-21MT relay contributes to reducing maintenance frequency of test equipment, allows high-precision measurements, and improves productivity of electronic components.
