When a manufacturer sends out an announcement of a new color finish or product iteration based on inconsequent novelties, it receives a strong pass from audioXpress. In this case, we truly found that these iLoud Precision Studio Monitors White Edition from IK Multimedia deserved a mention. Because the iLoud Precision series continues to be a very unique product with exceptional value that really needed white models to stand out.

Available now in black or white for all 3 configurations - 2-way 5" or 6.5", and 2 x 5" MTM - these IK studio monitors combine well-established engineering practice in loudspeaker design and digital signal processing, delivering the right level of sonic detail and accuracy for all those users who need a nearfield reference listening and cannot afford the really good professional monitors that cost more and are able to play at louder volumes. Plus, with the additional room compensation and calibration tools (ARC), the iLoud Precision monitors are as serious as it gets, and can even emulate the profiles of iconic studio monitors, for reference comparison.

Whatever the color finish, these monitors offer a flat frequency response within +/- 1dB accuracy from 45Hz to all above 20kHz, allowing musicians and producers to zoom in on which instruments and frequencies need attention, to create a perfect balance faster than ever. With precise stereo imaging and transients, plus a respectable bass extension, the iLoud Precision monitors will not disappoint on the low frequencies like most cheap monitors for home studio.

The iLoud Precision monitors leverage an advanced 96kHz internal DSP, digital crossovers and custom-designed Class-D amplifiers to deliver true linear phase response above 150Hz. With ARC enabled, in many rooms, these monitors can be trusted for full-range monitoring in every genre. Users just need to connect the included MEMS measurement microphone and in a few seconds, the iLoud Precisions will tune themselves to any environment, taking the room out of the mix. And an adjustable bass roll-off helps to integrate with a sub without the need of an external crossover to degrade sonic performance.

The correct time alignment of frequencies in all monitors also helps eliminate the ear fatigue that can develop over longer listening sessions, as well as improve translation of the listening material.

For further precision, these IK Multimedia monitors include a newly developed advanced control application - X-Monitor - that assists ARC calibration, enables extended acoustic and voicing control to fine-tune the monitors' response and provides a convenient remote access to the Precision's back panel controls. The software is plug-n-play via a simple USB connection with no special setup needed.

X-Monitor (pictured above) also allows the iLoud Precision monitors to emulate the precise frequency and phase response of many iconic studio monitors, as well as popular hi-fi speakers and mobile devices. With over 20 profiles included, a single pair of iLoud Precisions becomes a very useful nearfield reference tool that even commercial studios can find useful.

And now... in addition to the original black finish, the iLoud Precision monitors are available in a modern white finish to match any environment and studio setup. Continuing to be crafted in Italy, each speaker is hand-sprayed in multiple layers with strict attention to detail for a high-end finish that's both beautiful and enduring.

The iLoud Precision studio monitors in white can be ordered from the IK Multimedia online store and from IK authorized dealers worldwide, with prices ranging from $/€899.99 each for the iLoud Precision 5 (5" Woofer + 1.5" Tweeter, 135W RMS); $/€999.99 each for the iLoud Precision 6 model (6.5" Woofer + 1.5" Tweeter, 150W RMS); or $/€1,199.99 each for the recommended iLoud Precision MTM (2x 5" Woofers + 1.5" Tweeter, 175W RMS). IK Multimedia will also offer configurations for surround and immersive monitoring.
