HEAD acoustics is hosting another online seminar, this time focused on ANC headset testing. The event is free to register and will repeat over three different time zones on February 23 and 24. During the seminar, HEAD acoustics will recap how the company's systems have helped the popular forum for headphone enthusiasts, Head-Fi.org, to properly evaluate ANC headphones at a time where new technologies and designs keep being introduced.
In the upcoming free online seminar, titled “ANC Headset Testing – Making Sense of the Noise”, HEAD acoustics will provide insights into properly evaluating and optimizing ANC headsets and headphones. During the session, some results from Head-Fi tests on ANC performance, talk-through mode capabilities, and voice calling quality, featuring some of the very best devices on the market will be detailed.
The online seminar is intended for acoustic engineers developing and testing headsets/headphones. During the one hour session HEAD acoustics experts will explain the company's state-of-the-art test solution for ANC evaluation, how its approach differs and exceeds current practices. This will be followed by a Q&A session where participants will be able to deepen their knowledge.
This is a unique opportunity for product designers to learn more about the critical test scenarios that their products can be submitted, how does the system / active noise control respond to changes in the interfering noise, especially if these are rapid or sudden, how well does a device block out ambient noise when the ANC is activated and deactivated, and how effective are talk-through and other functions.
In the course of the seminar, HEAD acoustics will present their state-of-the-art test solution, share results and interpret the data. As one of the world's leading companies offering measurement solutions for sound and vibration analysis, HEAD acoustics offers its HMS II.3 fullband artificial head as an ideal platform for measuring voice and audio quality of close-to-the-ear audio and telecommunication devices (e.g. mobile phones, handsets, ANC headphones/headsets). The artificial head realistically replicates all acoustically relevant structures of the human anatomy.
The HMS II.3-LN, a fullband artificial head model with very low inherent noise (16dB SPL A-weighted), allows low-noise measurements of close-to-the-ear sound sources, featuring ear simulators with highly sensitive microphones for assessing the quality of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) headsets and headphones. In addition to its very low inherent noise, HMS II.3-LN is characterized by the fact that it measures levels up to 148 dBSPL – which results in a high dynamic range.
