Happy Plugs Promotes Air 1 Zen True Wireless with Biomaster Antimicrobial Technology

Swedish fashion tech brand Happy Plugs introduced the new Air 1 Zen true wireless earbuds to their family at an extremely competitive price point of $79.99 USD. There is nothing special about the new product, which features an extremely similar design to Apple's AirPods Pro - case and all - if it wasn't for the fact that it offers antimicrobial technology - meaning, using materials that inhibit the growth of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, or mold.

The use of antimicrobial materials in consumer electronics is an attractive proposition for consumers, well aware of the need to clean the objects they carry and use daily. For the Swedish brand, the new Air 1 Zen true wireless earbuds were apparently an opportunity to differentiate what is now the seventh generation TWS offering for the brand, expanding on a portfolio that currently also includes the Air 1 Go, Air 1 Plus, and Air 1 ANC (these last ones looking exactly like the AirPods Pro with ANC and transparency, even supporting AAC, while costing only $119).

According to Happy Plugs, the new Air 1 Zen comes with Biomaster (a registered trademark of British company Addmaster) antimicrobial technology, which is an effective way to keep products free from the growth of unwanted microbes that can cause degradation, discoloration, staining, and odors by up to 99.99%. Biomaster is easily incorporated into any plastic, textile, paper, paint or coating, making it an integral part of the manufacturing process and finished product, ensuring effective antimicrobial product protection for the lifetime of the product.

An important twist in the promotional message is the fact that Biomaster additives work 24/7 to protect the product surfaces, with no harmful effects, while, as Addmaster emphasizes, it does not protect the user or others against disease causing organisms. Meaning, the antimicrobial technology protects the product, not users, who are still advised to clean hands, and take precautions when required. Anyway, the message of antimicrobial properties clearly will be valued by consumers and is an important way to differentiate what would be otherwise a "me-too" clone product.

“In times where personal hygiene is important and finding serenity by escaping into music, Zen is a fitting name for our 7th generation of true wireless earphones. Adding another state of calmness, Happy Plugs Zen earphones come with antimicrobial technology, 99.9% effectiveness against bacteria and microbes”, says Andreas Vural, founder of Happy Plugs.

The Air 1 Zen is an updated Bluetooth 5 product that provides 6 hours of battery life in a single charge and 30 hours in total with the charging case. A 10-minute fast charge via the USB-C port gives users an additional 45 minutes of playtime. The earbuds' microphones improve video conferencing and phone call experiences by applying a software algorithm that enhances speech and suppresses ambient noise, while the AirPods Pro-like design will offer a proven fit in combination with 6 different ergonomically shaped ear tip sizes.

Designed with a range of colors that remain faithful to the Happy Plugs’ "spirit of fashion," the Air 1 Zen only supports the standard SBC codec and is essentially a very basic and affordable design that will efficiently compete with the countless "oneLESS", "XiMi2" brands that simply promise everything and deliver very little.
