DSP Concepts reported a 92% customer retention rate with brands building on Audio Weaver, highlighting the platform’s capabilities such as real-time debugging, minimized rework, chip flexibility, and accelerated time to market. More than 60 brands are actively building on the platform, including Tesla, Porsche, Sony, Spotify, and GoPro.
With regard to product advancements, DSP Concepts has recently optimized Audio Weaver for use with Qualcomm Hexagon processors, with both CPU and DSP functionality to support the deeply embedded processing needs of multimedia and communications products. The Hexagon architecture and family of cores is a key component of all of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.
Qualcomm developed the Hexagon as an advanced, variable instruction length, Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) processor architecture with hardware multi-threading. Audio Weaver now features multi-thread processing, scaling down its processor usage to 61% across each of Hexagon's hardware threads, creating a range of new opportunities for product makers porting to the processor.

Audio Weaver already offers more than 550 drag-and-drop processing modules, fully customizable to provide a flexible, extensible solution for OEM’s. Audio Weaver equips engineers with real-time workflows to quickly develop prototypes, collaborate and modify audio designs across teams, and deploy to the most popular chipsets from leading semiconductor companies including NXP, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics, and ARM.
While the Audio Weaver’s modular framework continues to expand, DSP Concepts also offers processing suites for specific product categories and the company is now offering the essentials of sound output processing for loudspeaker applications with PlayPack. The suite provides the essential elements to enhance, enrich, and augment speaker output with stereo imaging, dynamic control, loudness management, psychoacoustic bass, and dialog boost.

PlayPack includes four DSP Concepts designed output features, starting with PlayWide for widening the stereo imaging beyond the physical limitations of built-in speaker drivers; PlayBass for bass enhancement; PlayVoice to improve intelligibility of speech in mixed content; and PlayLevel to control the dynamic range of content in real-time and minimize volume changes. And with DSP Concepts Open Audio IP program, manufacturers and developers have the flexibility to build totally new features using the hundreds of processing modules available in Audio Weaver Designer.
