BdSound, a leading provider of audio and voice processing technology for noise reduction, speech enhancement, and automotive applications, has unveiled a strategic partnership with DSP Concepts, combining their expertise to address the growing complexities in automotive audio development. The collaboration delivers BdSound's speech processing technology, offering OEMs and integrators a streamlined deployment using DSP Concepts' Audio Weaver audio development platform.
The automotive smart cockpit is evolving into a highly intricate environment, demanding sophisticated solutions, particularly in the realm of infotainment experience. While OEMs are mainly focused on audio quality, integrators also seek efficient solutions with groundwork already laid for integration. The BdSound and DSP Concepts partnership aims to bridge this gap by making the latest technologies from the Italian company available in Audio Weaver.
BdSound has recently accelerated its pace of innovation in automotive audio with its latest Simply Sounds Clear set of technologies and algorithms, now combined in the Microphone Bubbles solution - a way to isolate each passenger’s voice inside the vehicle, allowing calls and voice recognition for all occupants in a car.
Simply Sounds Clear, BdSound's flagship solution improves both human-to-human communication and human-to-machine interaction and has already been embraced by OEMs and Tier-1s in the automotive market. The new Microphone Bubbles technology builds and expands upon the company's highly advanced AI and processing tools, carefully designed and harmonized to provide car passengers with the best voice experience ever.
"This partnership is a catalyst for automotive audio innovation. With DSP Concepts we can provide an integrated solution, significantly reducing deployment time," says Antonio Grosso, CEO of BdSound. "Expanding the capabilities of Audio Weaver, this milestone accelerates access to BdSound technology for all the users. Customers utilizing Audio Weaver will now have the possibility to smoothly choose BdSound for their automotive audio. Moreover, they can now benefit from direct support from both BdSound and DSP Concepts, ensuring a seamless development guided by two industry leaders," he adds.
DSP Concepts, headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, is a leading force in embedded audio software development, and the creator of Audio Weaver, the audio development platform that makes audio innovation easy. Solutions designed with Audio Weaver can easily be deployed on the most popular Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) and System On Chip (SoCs), supporting development of products for personal and home audio, conferencing and automotive.
In the automotive industry, Audio Weaver is a highly recognized software framework, designed to reduce integration and deployment efforts, while shortening the product development journey from R&D to production.
"This strategic partnership with BdSound will be an important enhancement of our already integrated automotive platform with Qualcomm, Samsung, NXP, ADI, TI, AKM, and many others," states Chin Beckmann, CEO of DSP Concepts.
The official release of BdSound technology in Audio Weaver is scheduled for January 9, coinciding with the start of CES 2024, where both companies will be present and available to provide further information. The DSP Concepts team of embedded audio processing experts will be at the Venetian Tower Suites to showcase automotive and consumer electronics audio solutions.
