Denon Announces New High-Res Wireless Multiroom Speaker Series with HEOS Built-in, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth

December 11 2019, 00:20
Denon announced a new suite of high-fidelity wireless multiroom speakers, available for purchase in early 2020. Comprised of three models, the new Denon Home focus on its high-resolution streaming capability, as well as the support for AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth sources. Using the HEOS app, the Denon Home speakers can be easily connected and expanded throughout the home to other HEOS Built-in products, including Denon’s industry-leading lineup of AVRs, soundbars and Hi-Fi equipment. All speakers feature touch controls and 3 or 6 Quick Selects buttons for access to favorite stations with a single press.

The new Denon Home wireless speakers intend to deliver a reference quality playback system without the complexity of traditional Hi-Fi separates. Listeners can stream their favorite songs from Amazon Music HD, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, TIDAL and more services, as well as high-resolution files stored on USB drives, phones or networks via Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, or Bluetooth. Users can also group Denon Home speakers with other AirPlay 2 devices and HEOS Built-in products, like AV receivers, Hi-Fi systems, soundbars, and speakers to fill their home with sound, play different music in each room, or group devices together to stream the same music throughout the home.

“This new lineup of high-fidelity speakers from Denon are designed from the ground-up. Leveraging Denon’s expertise in Hi-Fi amplification, DSP engineering and sound master tuning, the new Denon Home delivers unrivaled precision and incredible bass response,” says Michael Greco, Senior Director of Global Brand Management at Sound United. “Since Denon Home uses the latest HEOS platform, they are fully compatible with Denon AV receivers — the leading AVR brand in the world — as well as all HEOS built-in products. With high-resolution audio more accessible than ever before, it was important to support gapless playback of 24-bit/192kHz FLAC, WAV, ALAC and DSD 2.8/5.6MHz files. Finally, wireless setup makes it incredibly easy to setup and add more speakers to Denon Home to get users up and running in no time.”

Denon Home 350
Designed for larger rooms as a primary entertainment source, the Denon Home 350 offers superior clarity and detail of high-resolution stereo audio, in place of a full Hi-Fi separates system. With network support and a USB port, the Denon Home 350 allows for gapless playback of high-resolution audio including 192kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV, ALAC and DSD 2.8/5.6MHz. Listeners will appreciate very natural sound and authoritative bass response thanks to two dynamic 3/4-inch soft dome tweeters, two robust 2-inch mid-bass drivers and two powerful 6.5-inch woofers powered by a six-channel amplifier engineered into a sleek, elegant chassis. For added convenience, the Denon Home 350 features six proximity controlled Quick Select buttons allowing instant recall of favorite Internet radio stations.

Using the HEOS app, users can group two Denon Home 350 speakers together as a left and right stereo pair, or as rear surrounds in a 5.1 system with the Denon DHT-S716H soundbar and DSW-1H subwoofer. The Denon Home 350 has an MSRP of $699 USD.

Denon Home 250
The Denon Home 250 offers the same features, refinement and elegant user experience as the larger Denon Home 350 model from a more compact chassis. This wireless stereo speaker is ideally suited for nearly any room, providing rich sound and access to popular streaming services from a smaller enclosure. The Denon Home 250 offers a true Hi-Fi experience from two dynamic 3/4-inch tweeters, two 4-inch mid-bass drivers, a 5.25-inch passive radiator for extended bass response and powered by a 4-channel amplifier. The three Quick Select buttons deliver fast access to favorite Internet radio stations. The Denon Home 250 has an MSRP of $499 USD.

Denon Home 150
Designed for smaller spaces in the home, the Denon Home 150’s compact design features a premium 1-inch soft dome tweeter and 3.5-inch woofer, which — despite its size — performs like a much larger speaker. The Denon Home 150 still offers high-resolution music playback along with the same level of detail and ease-of-use as the Denon Home 350 and 250. It also offers three Quick Select buttons for fast access to favorite Internet radio stations and full compatibility with all HEOS Built-in components. The Denon Home 150 has an MSRP of $249 USD.

According to Denon, all three models of Denon Home speakers will come equipped with two microphones for future voice assistant support. These microphones will be disabled and not functional until a future software update is available. At that time, all Denon Home users can enable the microphone if they wish via the HEOS application.
