Dell Announces New AI-Driven Headset Portfolio

In the fast-paced and ever-evolving landscape of the modern workplace, effective communication is the cornerstone of productivity and collaboration. Dell Technologies is meeting those challenges with new headset designs that combine the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve hybrid work and the overall employee experience with noise canceling, reliable communications and improved comfort. And they are not as ugly as a Dell laptop.

Dell Technologies is investing in its peripheral portfolio with the latest technological innovations, recognizing that the company's customers need more than a PC to work and that they need a comprehensive ecosystem across peripherals, software, support and services to be productive as possible in the place, space and pace at which employees work. And that's not easy to do on the lowest cost Windows PCs which don't even recognize there are headphones or a microphone connected.

At the ISE 2024 show in Barcelona, Dell promised that its investments in this space are just starting, and it announced the all-new line up of Dell intelligent headsets, built from the ground up with the latest AI-driven technology (which uses trained models for effective audio processing) to improve the noise canceling performance. The new designs all offer long-lasting, comfortable wear, making these wireless and wired headsets a reliable option for all-day conferencing.

Its most intelligent wireless and wired headsets to date, the Dell Pro Wireless ANC Headset (WL5024) and Dell Pro Wired ANC Headset (WH5024) are equipped with built-in AI-driven noise cancellation microphones that pick up and filter out background noises. These headsets feature a robust AI-processing model, with environmental noise cancellation that is more intelligent, reliable, and accurate in distinguishing human voices from surrounding noises.

Both headsets offer Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that reduces and blocks out unwanted environmental noise, with the WL5024 model taking things a step further by offering a more sophisticated Hybrid ANC which combines both feed-forward and feed-back ANC providing better noise reduction across a broader range of frequencies.

Understanding the limitations of Windows-based PCs, Dell also enabled these headsets with the ability to pair wirelessly and securely in just one-click using dedicated USB dongles and Dell Pair software to tell the PC there is a new device connected and to customize audio settings.

Smart sensors mute the conversation when the user removes their WL5024 wireless headset and resumes the call when they put it back on, while the WH5024 Pro Wired ANC boasts easy in-line control for common tasks. Both designs have a discreet boom mic that can be flipped down to unmute and flip up to mute. This mic can be neatly tuck away when not in use.

With ergonomics and comfort in mind, the new Dell headsets are built with premium quality materials that include adjustable leatherette headbands and replaceable memory foam ear cushions.  Both models are Certified for Microsoft Teams (Open Office) and Zoom, and are compatible with leading UC platforms. Open Office qualification includes the strictest test on how the headset microphone suppresses surrounding noise and office conversation from multiple directions.

The WL5024 wireless headset model can be easily charged by placing it on its charging dock for convenient rapid charging with up to 8 hours in 15min. On a full charge, users can enjoy up to 78 hours of listening time.

Expanding the portfolio even further, and available now are the Dell Wireless Headset (WL3024) and Dell Wired Headset (WH3024). Easy to use, these headsets are no-frills options for a smooth sailing workday.
