Creative Is Latest Manufacturer to Announce TWS Earbuds Using xMEMS Drivers

Creative Technology is the latest manufacturer to announce a strategic partnership with xMEMS Labs, confirming that it will be incorporating xMEMS' micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) solid-state speaker technology into Creative's True Wireless Stereo (TWS) products. With superior audio reproduction and consistency referenced as the main reasons for adoption, Creative says the integration of xMEMS's compact MEMS drivers will enable lighter, sleeker, and more ergonomic TWS earbuds that provide better wearability for users on the move. Since being founded in January 2018, xMEMS Labs quickly jumped to the market lead in the transition to MEMS micro speakers, with an extended family of drivers promoted as "the world’s first solid-state True MEMS speakers for TWS and other personal audio devices." xMEMS has over 100 granted patents worldwide for its monolithic transduction architecture that implements both actuation and diaphragm in silicon, producing a fast and precise response that is proving very tolerant to frequency shaping and target response curves.

Creative states that it selected xMEMS' tiny yet powerful drivers for its TWS earbuds due to the "crystal-clear sound that reproduces every nuance of music and audio content with astounding accuracy." The Singapore-based company also highlights that xMEMS' solid-state, all-silicon MEMS-based drivers "boast exceptional phase consistency (7x better than conventional drivers), offering superior spatial audio experiences with improved detail and separation."
