Underscoring its commitment to redefine all areas of the outdoor listening experience with truly high-end audio designs, Coastal Source announced the market introduction of CUBE, a high-quality down-firing outdoor subwoofer. As the New Jersey-based company explains, CUBE was designed to empower installers to create a truly unique three dimensional listening experience for their customers, with a design that is rugged enough to Defy the Elements.
The Coastal Source CUBE 350-watt subwoofer elegantly combines two customizable stone finishes (Travertine or Granite) with a big, powerful, impactful 10" bass driver in a small 16" cube shape that can be mounted on hardscapes or softscapes to provide integrators a flexible bass system without the need to dig into the landscape.
CUBE is making its debut at Audio Advice Live 2024 (August 2-4, 2024) in Raleigh, North Carolina and it will be featured at CEDIA 2024 at the Coastal Source booth (#3533) at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
"CUBE is designed and engineered from the bottom up to deliver audiophile quality bass from a classic, compact shape that blends into a landscape and provides years of outstanding performance in even the most challenging environments," says Coastal Source's CEO Franco D’Ascanio. "CUBE’s flexible design allows it to be mounted on any hard surface or in the landscape environment to enable the installer to place the bass source in the optimal location for the client."
The CUBE subwoofer is designed to seamlessly integrate into any Coastal Source Plug&Play high-performance audio system. CUBE is the perfect low-frequency bass complement to work with the company's Razor, Contour, 8.0 Mini Ellipse Bollard, 10.0 Ellipse Bollard Satellite, or 10.0 2-way Ellipse Bollard outdoor speaker solutions. CUBE comes with vibration-reducing rubber feet that will ensure the subwoofer stays put and doesn't vibrate against the hardscape even when it is driven to the highest power levels.
"Carrying our industry leading 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, CUBE continues Coastal Source's mission to Defy the Elements by incorporating all our reliability and durability experience that we have learned over the past 15 years," D'Ascanio emphasized. "We use the most highly engineered materials to ensure that the product will perform for years and years."
CUBE uses a color-through roto mold composite material for the enclosure. The subwoofer cone is made of fiberglass and the surround is made of high-quality santoprene thermoplastic elastomer that will resist temperature extremes, UV, and water. CUBE uses the Plug&Play Coastal Source UniConnect 8C cable and connector system allowing the installer to twist and lock one cable onto the subwoofer in record time. No tools. No soldering. No chances of a bad connection. And, with the Coastal Source Cap Switch, the installer can quickly invert the phase 180-degrees to optimize the sound performance of any subwoofer location.
"Whether harmonizing with the visual environment or reshaping the bottom of the music they love, CUBE is designed to make the homeowner feel more at home in the listening room without walls that is the heart of their outdoor lifestyle," D’Ascanio concludes.
With more than 60 years of hands-on industry experience, Coastal Source outdoor audio and lighting products are built using innovative design to solve real-world problems and endure intense environmental testing.
