BREGGZ Introduces Luxury Hearables Customized to Individual Ears

December 27 2023, 01:10
BREGGZ Hearables will unveil the world's first truly wireless, custom-made "in-ear" computer — a made-to-measure luxury hearable with an A+ audio experience — at CES 2024. Each pair of BREGGZ is tailor-made to the user, to provide the best possible sound for a truly wireless in-ear experience — "a dramatic change in sound and luxury", according to the new Dutch technology company. The BREGGZ design uses four Knowles balanced armature drivers per side.

BREGGZ Hearables B.V. was founded in 2020 by Xander de Buisonjé, a noted Dutch singer who has used in-ear monitors for years on stage. His company now developed technology that allows users to scan their ears for a custom-made fit and create what the company claims as the world’s first "in-ear computer" that delivers a superior, unique audio experience, and provides a luxury wireless alternative that is also more sustainable.

The global true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds market is still predicted to grow exponentially in the next few years, as standard earbuds with basic features evolve to become true hearables. In a highly competitive market, saturated with cheap devices that don't fit users' ears and sound terrible, BREGGZ believes it makes sense to offer a luxury alternative that will offer the latest Bluetooth technology and even built-in AI processing on-device.

But BREGGZ doesn't want to offer simply hearables, and aims to deliver state-of-the-art "in-ear computers" that are custom designed specifically to fit each individual user's ears perfectly. Individual ears are unique as a fingerprint and BREGGZ utilizes technology that allows customers to scan their individual ears and provides a better customized replica than even hand-made molds. Ear scans are modified into 3D print files, and exclusively selected BREGGZ partners produce 3D-printed medical-grade ceramic or plastic shells and faceplates. BREGGZ can also be customized like made-to-measure jewelry. Faceplate collections are planned for offer in collaboration with other luxury brands, artists and athletes.

The BREGGZ hearables feature a superior audio experience thanks to using four high-end balanced armature drivers per individual ear and pinna produced by Knowles. BREGGZ utilizes a unique, patented ‘one-box’ technology, in which all of the hardware and firmware are processed in a mini cartridge, which can be easily replaced in the event the user wants to upgrade to a newer version of BREGGZ, or there is a battery charge decrease over time.

According to BREGGZ, the in-ears are made to last a lifetime. The patented cartridge that houses all BREGGZ' technology is smaller in diameter than the tip of an adult’s pinky finger, is universally assembly-line produced, and easily changed to access new and updated features. This makes BREGGZ a more sustainable, eco-friendly hearable vs. the status quo.

"I wanted customers to hear what I hear as a professional artist," says BREGGZ co-founder and CEO Xander de Buisonjé, who wanted to replicate the same wired In-Ear Monitors (IEMs) he's used for years while singing. "BREGGZ provides a true wireless luxury alternative for customers who want the highest quality sound, fit, and comfort from in-ear monitors, but BREGGZ offers so much more than performance: each pair is customized and as much of a piece of art or a personal statement as a high-end piece of equipment. A pair of BREGGZ is a true luxury item."

The company wants BREGGZ to be available worldwide, starting initially in Europe, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. For its debut, BREGGZ is promoting a special CES introductory price of USD $1,750 or EUR €1,600, and an expected ship date of Q3 2024. The special CES 2024 introductory pricing is limited to the 100 pairs of BREGGZ pre-ordered during CES 2024 and also includes free shipping. An extensive line of BREGGZ product accessories is also planned.

Other features that are planned include voice control, IPX4 rating, a designer charger with gull-wing doors that works using USB-C and induction charging, 40+ hours of charge capacity when fully charged, and about 8 hours of use before needing a recharge. Each set includes a BREGGZ leather carrying case and cleaning set,

BREGGZ will showcase its technology as part of the NL Tech Pavilion in Eureka Park at the Venetian Expo, Booth 62100, from January 9-12, 2024. Pre-orders can be placed online.
