Bang & Olufsen Unveils Beoplay EQ TWS Earbuds with Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation

July 29 2021, 01:50
Bang & Olufsen expanded its range of true wireless earbuds with the introduction of Beoplay EQ with Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation. The design is not pitched as any technological breakthrough in ANC, or a "something-killer," but as an effective solution for eliminating surrounding noise and allowing total immersion in Bang & Olufsen’s signature sound. The refined design combines the latest specs with precise, powerful sound, and a secure fit.

This is not to say that users are not going to be impressed with the Active Noise Canceling performance. In fact, the Danish luxury audio brand says that its impressive ANC implementation and transparency mode will let users "find focus or relax in any environment you find yourself in." For the new product, Bang & Olufsen says it combined an array of sensitive and highly directional, beamforming microphones that not only makes ANC effective but also ensures calls will be crystal clear.

The intuitive user controls on each earbud allow direct control of the most used features with no need for voice activation, while the stylish charging case protect the earbuds and provide two further charges, bringing total play time up to 20 hours, and 6.5 hours of playtime with ANC turned on. And thanks to USB-C fast charge, the earbuds can be quickly charged for 20 minutes, and the user will get 2 hours of playtime. The Qi-certified, wireless charging case is crafted from spacecraft-grade aluminum, and has been designed to be as small as possible to fit easily into a pocket whilst on the go

"Crafted for luxurious everyday use," whether working from home, commuting into the office, or traveling for pleasure, the Beoplay EQ are described as "the perfect, pocketable companion for escaping the noise of everyday life."

According to Bang & Olufsen, the Beoplay EQ's superior technical specifications, starting with the latest Bluetooth 5.2, deliver a seamless wireless experience with aptX adaptive and AAC, making the set-up process easier on both Android and Apple devices thanks to the inclusion of Microsoft Swift Pair and Made for iPhone licenses.

“When creating Beoplay EQ, we made a commitment to deliver on the expectations of our customers whether they are using their earphones for travel, business or pleasure. The ergonomic earphones have been designed for comfort and provide powerful and authentic sound, making them a must have for design and music lovers. Thanks to the durable aluminum charging case as well as the Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, Beoplay EQ provides a revolutionary listening experience wherever you go”, says Bang & Olufsen SVP of Product Management Christoffer Poulsen.

To achieve the maximum noise-cancelling effect, Bang & Olufsen combined the adaptive ANC processing platform with excellent passive sealing, effectively blocking outside noise. The dedicated ANC DSP chip and six MEMS microphones allow for automatic adjustment of ANC levels to create a seamless audio experience from the dynamic, 6.8 mm diameter drivers. In addition to this, the microphones create the best directional beamforming technology, resulting in crystal clear call and speech quality.

The Beoplay EQ ANC earbuds (399 EUR) are available in Black Anthracite and Sand Gold Tone - two choices that will please the brand's faithful community, while allowing space for future models. Most important, the Beoplay EQ ensure a comfortable and secure fit due to the small and ergonomic shape of the earbuds, which are also sweat and water resistant (IP54) and come with interchangeable Comply Sport 200 and silicone tips, in different sizes to suit a range of ears.
