AXPONA 2022 Audio Expo Returns In-Person Stronger Than Ever

April 14 2022, 01:10
North America's largest high end audio expo, AXPONA (Audio Expo North America) returns in-person April 22-24, 2022 to the Chicago Area. The whole audio industry has been anticipating the return of this event, which in its 11th edition promises already 500+ exhibitors and brands, 130+ interactive listening rooms, an expanded Expo Hall, a dedicated headphone area, live concerts, seminars and much more. Once again at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center.

Before the pandemic, AXPONA was established as the largest - and most international - high end audio show. Promoted by the experienced and dedicated JD Events the show is now firmly projected to grow - pandemic allowing - by remaining in the mid April time slot for the next 3 years. And after the disruption of the last two years, there's nothing better than consistency from event promoters.

Rewarding the professional organization, AXPONA will return in 2022 with even more exhibit areas, complementing the traditional listening rooms. The Expo Hall, which is home to the Record Fair will showcase a vast array of turntables, cables, accessories, racks and stands, tonearms, cartridges, vinyl and desktop speakers in the growing world of mobile and high-end personal listening.

And like every show of the sort there will be an area focused on headphones and personal audio. For AXPONA it+s called the Ear Gear Experience and it will be located in one of the convention center’s large ballrooms to enhance the listening experience and health safety. Everything from open-back, closed-back, in-ear headphones and accessories, cables and players that go into a personal audio rig will be on display there. Also, all the leading global brands and manufacturers, from Audeze to Warwick Acoustics, will be there to debut new products.

The high-performance systems will be demonstrated in over 130+ dedicated listening rooms (on 10 floors). Attendees are encouraged to listen and compare the products from some of the world’s most prestigious manufacturers. In all, more than 500 global manufacturers, retailers and brands will gather at AXPONA, including MBL, ELAC, Bluesound, Wilson Audio, Focal Naim America, Hegel, Krell Industries, Quintessence Audio, Scott Walker Audio and SAE, all of whom will showcase the newest high-end products and services to attendees.

The seminar scheduled is also looking good, with sessions all weekend, including “Meet the Legends of High End Audio” featuring Siegfried Amft of Theory + Application Electroakustik (T+A), Bill Duddleston of Legacy Audio and Gayle Sanders of Eikon Audio. A dedicated session titled “Correcting or Creating a Listening Room? Hear from the Pro’s” will be presented by Dave Malekpour, president of Malekpour Design Partners and Pro Audio Design, Luis Roquette Valdez of Jocavi Acoustic Panels, and interior designer, Carly Moeller of Unpatterned.

The hotel's world class theater on the Expo floor will feature curated content presented by industry experts including Chicago-based record pressing plant, Smashed Plastic on the process of how a record gets made and discuss what makes a pressing sound superior. And don’t miss David Solomon from Qobuz, who will talk about getting the best performance from streaming non-adaptive, Hi-Res music and how to get the best performance at home and on the road.

When the show closes, the afterparty kicks off with live music nightly and there's reasons to stay aware of the performances. And the promoters also confirmed that, signaling the two years since AXPONA convened in person, there will be exclusive collectibles including the official AXPONA T-shirt, 2022 collectors pin, and reusable AXPONA water bottles.

While AXPONA is known for featuring world-renowned companies and manufacturers, this year's event will benefit from many new manufacturers and dealers which will exhibit for the first time at the show. And among those, we can find many companies from Europe, including Devialet from France.

"We couldn’t be more excited to be back in person this year and the enthusiasm from our newest exhibitors proves that AXPONA is still the place to be if you’re in the audio industry,” says Liz Smith, Event Director, AXPONA. “Each year we draw attendees from throughout North America looking for the very best in audio equipment and this year is no exception. We are looking forward to welcoming back many long-time partners who have supported the show proudly for the last 11 years.”

AXPONA will open April 22-24 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center offering attendees three jam-packed days, attracting dealers, distributors and manufacturers, as well as music-loving consumers. Open to the public, AXPONA offers a variety of ticket options for attendees.
