Audio-Technica Releases Limited-Edition ATH-M50x Headphones in Lantern Glow Metallic Orange

September 3 2021, 00:30
—Audio-Technica confirmed that is now selling the new ATH-M50xMO Professional Monitor Headphones, a limited-edition "Lantern Glow" version of the popular ATH-M50x featuring a metallic orange finish with black and silver accents. This model is the result of a global crowdsourcing campaign, where participants voted on their favorite color to be chosen for a new ATH-M50x model. Or maybe it was just the competition voting for fun...

There's always the risk that someone in the marketing team will come up with a "good idea". "Hey, let's ask the market which color they would like to see on our best-selling headphones!" And they opened a poll online. And of course the result was "Metallic Orange". As Confucius once said, “What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.” But they did. Most likely, their enemies did. 5000 times apparently.

These headphones incorporate technology drawn from Audio-Technica’'s long history, and offer natural, accurate sound with impactful bass and high-frequency extension along with exceptional power handling capability. From the 45mm large-aperture drivers to its sound-isolating circumaural earcups and robust construction, the ATH-M50xMO can be used for personal listening, podcasting and working at home, as well as for the most critical audio applications including recording, live sound, broadcast and DJ use. And the collapsible design with detachable cable, allow the ATH-M50xMO headphones to be taken anywhere - unless they are Metallic Orange.

The limited-edition “Lantern Glow” metallic orange version of Audio-Technica’'s popular ATH-M50x Wired Professional Monitor Headphone are now shipping for $169 US, and include detachable cables (1.2m-3m coiled cable, 3m straight cable, and 1.2m straight cable). In addition, a Lantern Glow version of the newly-launched ATH-M50xBT2 wireless headphones will be available soon, as the ATH-M50xBT2MO.
