Burson Audio, the Australian manufacturer of USB DAC/Headphone Amplifier/Preamplifiers, Headphone Amplifiers and Stereo Amplifiers, announced its latest Generation 5 of their world-renowned discrete-circuit audio op-amps, available through subsidiary Supreme Sound Audio Components.
Burson Audio is a company who believes in specialized components to optimize performance and they recently created a subsidiary company, Supreme Sound Audio Components, to provide DIY and OEM parts and testing equipment. As the company explains in its website: “A system can only sound as good as its weakest link. All Burson Audio products use thick, temperature-stable printed circuit boards with high-purity copper traces and gold-plated soldering pads. An extra coating is applied to both sides of the PCB to prevent oxidation. The boards are hand-built use high-spec metal-film resistors and other audio-grade parts using as few hand-matched components in the signal path as possible.
“This is most often overlooked in audio design where general-purpose designed-for-computer IC op-amps are widely used. All-discrete audio Supreme Sound Op-Amps are specifically designed for audio rather than computer applications,” they add.
Measuring just 11mm X 13mm (0.4 in x 0.5 in) the Supreme Sound Audio Op-Amps have practically the same footprint as a standard through-hole IC op-amp and, at a mere 30mm high, the SSA Op-Amps conveniently fit where needed.
