The new Enclave Audio WiSA-certified Wireless 5.1 home-theater system made its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015, offering uncompromised, true surround sound with the ability to easily place the speakers as 5.1 surround was designed and intended—surrounding the listener. Whether it’s movies, music, sports, or video gaming, Enclave wirelessly surrounds users, bringing the home theater experience to life as never before.
This segment of the home audio market represents an enormous opportunity for manufacturers and retailers with wireless speakers growing at 181% annually, which is more than double that of the soundbar category. “With the popularized soundbar audio solution, true surround sound is dismissed for convenience and wiring issues,” said Rob Jones, Chief Technology Officer of Enclave Audio. “Enclave Audio will change the way consumers think about surround sound from now on, allowing users to just unbox, power up, and have a true 5.1 surround sound system ready to go.”
The Enclave Smart Center connects to any TV with a single cable and will host HDMI and SPDIF (Optical) sources, including satellite, cable, streaming appliances and gaming consoles. No home Wi-Fi routers are needed and no bridge box is required. Enclave Audio speakers are simply placed in the appropriate locations in the room, plugged into the power source, and the Enclave Smart Center connected to an audio source (e.g., DVD Player, Satellite/Cable Box, Gaming Console). Enclave Audio Speakers are Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA) certified and are designed and custom-tuned to deliver a world-class home theater surround experience at affordable prices.
“The WiSA Association is thrilled to see Enclave Audio take full advantage of the high-resolution, multichannel wireless audio capabilities in their new WiSA certified 5.1 channel wireless audio system,” said Tom Lee, President of WiSA. “Products based on WiSA certified technology are both cost-effective for entry level wireless home theater systems while producing the high resolution sound required for demanding, high-end audiophile equipment. The Enclave Audio system is an exciting introduction in this much-needed category.”
Available in May of 2015, Enclave Audio’s speakers and sets are expected to retail from $199 to $1,199. All of Enclave Audio’s products are built on a system that uses the WiSA standard to transmit 5.1 channels of 24-bit/96-kHz uncompressed audio to the speakers without the use of wires. Enclave Audio uses the 5.2-5.8 GHz band, not existing home wireless Wi-Fi, to reduce interference when transmitting such dense data streams and as such is not dependent on home wireless networks. This proprietary network is created specifically for one purpose: the flawless delivery of crystal clear, uncompressed audio, to every speaker in the system in an incredible 5 ms.
“Retail response so far has been incredible. As you can imagine, everyone is amazed at the quality of sound we’re able to deliver at a price point that consumers can readily afford,” said Don Hicks, Head of Global Sales for Enclave Audio.
