7 Sensing Software Supports Analog Devices' Low Power Audio Codecs

November 19 2021, 01:10
7 Sensing Software, a company working in advanced embedded audio DSP and machine learning solutions, announced that it has entered into a collaboration with Analog Devices, Inc. The two companies are working together to incorporate 7 Sensing’s state-of-the-art audio solutions for wireless earbuds and headsets embedded into Analog Devices’ recently expanded family of low power codecs. 7 Sensing's Pure Voice solution and Hearing Augmentation suite will expand Analog Device's hardware platform with a valuable, differentiated feature set for manufacturers and brands.

Headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, 7 Sensing already has significant experience working with manufacturers on advanced voice processing and hearing augmentation features for hearables. In those implementations, 7 Sensing Software is able to support multiple platform cores from Qualcomm, Cadence and ARM. The company's audio DSP and AI-optimized libraries are key embedded software technologies helping to solve the challenges of voice quality calling with wireless earbuds, especially in noisy environments.

7 Sensing’s Pure Voice software tackles that challenge by leveraging bone vibration sensors and in-ear microphones. Pure Voice intelligently blends the signals from multiple sources for crystal clear conversations, with speech transmitted strip-cleaned from background noise.

To enable the next generation of wireless earbuds, 7 Sensing also offers its Hearing Augmentation software solution. This suite of signal processing algorithms elevates face to face conversations with personalized hearing amplification, ambient noise reduction and beamforming with natural low latency.

The collaboration with Analog Devices will perfectly complement the company's latest generation of low power codecs, such as the ADAU1788, with two digital signal processors, optimized for low latency and ideal for noise cancelling headsets; the ADAU1850 codec with three inputs and one DSP for low power noise canceling earbuds in a small, 28-ball, package (WLCSP); or the more powerful Analog Devices ADAU1860 with three inputs and two DSPs for more demanding ANC earbud designs.

7 Sensing’s state-of-the-art algorithms optimized for Analog Devices’ low power codec chips will offer OEMs and ODMs of premium wireless earbuds a powerful combination of audio performance, power efficiency and ease-of-integration. The solution package of hardware and software will be offered through Analog Devices’ sales channels and is expected to be available for evaluation at the end of 2021.

7 Sensing Software is an independent software vendor that aims to enable technology companies to build new and exciting sensing solutions by providing algorithm IP licensing, software development and integration services. The company applies on-device and cloud-based AI and machine learning on multi-modal sensing solutions in the audio, imaging, optical and spectral domains for mobile, wearable, industrial and smart home applications.
