Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International - A Reasserted Commitment to the Audio Industry

Short after ALTI Expo 2022 took place in Las Vegas under challenging circumstances, ALTI members have reaffirmed their commitment towards the industry association. ALTI Association celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021 and the landmark moment was acknowledged during ALTI Expo 2022, after two years of global pandemic. The celebration was an important reminder of the importance of keeping the industry together for everyone that attended the event.

Following up on the first Virtual ALTI-EXPO edition, which was highly praised for the quality of its content but was affected by few technical hurdles, the second Virtual ALTI-EXPO promoted by the Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International association will take place July 15. This will be a full day of expanded presentations promoted as a service to ALTI's Members and the audio industry. Sessions start at 9AM EDT, and attendance is FREE.

A member referendum on April 14, 2020 produced a unanimous vote to turn ownership and management of Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International (ALTI), formerly known as the Association of Loudspeaker Manufacturing & Acoustics (ALMA) International to longtime Executive Director Barry Vogel, effective July 1, 2020. According to the announcement sent by the association, this is being done to streamline operations and decision making as well as opening the door to more opportunities to help the Membership with new programs and services.

This announcement probably will not come as a surprise for anyone, but unfortunately the Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International (ALTI) association was forced to confirm the cancelation of its ALTI Expo 2020 in Las Vegas, in light of the coronavirus pandemic evolution and the decision by AVIXA to also cancel the InfoComm 2020 show. Being an event with a very strong focus on education, ALTI will now focus on promoting the programed content through online events and publications, while other alternatives for networking are under consideration.

The annual ALMA International Symposium & Expo (AISE) 2019, took place June 9–10 at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Universal Orlando, just prior to InfoComm 2019. Once again, it was the strongest event ever for anyone in the loudspeaker and electroacoustic development in general. This was the first event since the association decided to move away from Las Vegas and CES, and leverage the opportunities of working closer with the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) and its annual trade show, InfoComm.

The Association of Loudspeaker Manufacturing & Acoustics (ALMA) International will promote its ALMA International Symposium & Expo (AISE) June 9–10, 2019, just prior to and in affiliation with InfoComm in Orlando, FL. The event will be a unique opportunity to expand the scope of ALMA's activities, bringing loudspeaker industry members together. ALMA has been working hard for AISE 2019 and confirmed activities include the first Speaker Builders Workshop. There are still opportunities for content and taking space available at the exhibition. Registration is now available.

ALMA International will promote the 2018 edition of its annual International Symposium & Expo 2018 (AISE), in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 6 – 7. The theme for AISE 2018 will be "The Revolution of the Audio Signal Chain," and ALMA is already picking up steam with its most dynamic seminar program ever. This two-day gathering, just prior to the largest consumer electronics industry trade show (CES), has to be high on the priorities for any loudspeaker industry professional.

InfoComm, is North America's largest audio-visual trade show, and the 2017 edition attracted more than 40,000 visitors for the first time in its history. That's 13% more than the last time it was held in Orlando, in 2015, and 14% more than InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. As the InfoComm International Association confirmed immediately following its InfoComm 2017 event, the show was another record-breaking moment for this thriving sector, which now combines much more than AV commercial integration.

For 2016, our annual Loudspeaker Industry Sourcebook (LIS 2016) directory has gained an entirely new dimension. The online directory was updated and contains complete listings and category indexes, which make this annual publication such an invaluable resource for the industry.
