Century-Old German Brand Beyerdynamic Acquired

The owners of beyerdynamic have agreed to sell the company. The announcement dates from June 6, 2025, and was revealed publicly on June 9, when a document detailing the terms of an acquisition by Jiahe Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., acting on behalf of Cosonic International Pte., confirmed the intent to acquire beyerdynamic GmbH & Co., all its assets, and subsidiaries in the US, China, and India. Cosonic is a large ODM/OEM based in Dongguan, China, recognized for its work for many international and Chinese audio brands.

Sound Devices announced the acquisition of US-based in-ear monitoring pioneer Jerry Harvey (JH) Audio. The deal brings together two strong audio brands under the Audiotonix group portfolio, focused on delivering audio solutions to artists and performers, on stage, on location, and in the studio. Adding an IEM company inside a group that already comprises Allen & Heath, Calrec, DiGiCo, KLANG:technologies, and Solid State Logic is certainly significant. For Sound Devices, IEMs are a natural expansion for its growing range of Astral RF wireless products.

AVPro Global Holdings LLC, the company that currently combines AVPro Edge, AudioControl Pro, Bullet Train, ThenAudio, and Murideo, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), a recognized leader in intelligent home and business control and automation solutions. One of the last independent control and automation manufacturers present in both the commercial and residential installation markets, RTI is headquartered in Shakopee, MN, not too far from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where AVPro is based.

The Freedman Group, the parent company 100% owned by Peter Freedman, owner of Røde, Mackie, Aphex, SoundField, and Event Electronics, has revealed the acquisition of Lectrosonics, the globally renowned US manufacturer of professional wireless audio systems. Lectrosonics' motto is "Made in the USA by a Bunch of Fanatics" and mirrors the fact that the company manufactures all of its products in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Peter Freedman, wants to expand those operations to also manufacture Mackie products in the US.

Masimo to Sell Consumer Audio Business to Harman International

Masimo announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Sound United consumer audio business to Harman International, the company that is also a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, for an aggregate purchase price of $350 million in cash, subject to certain adjustments. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to receiving necessary regulatory approvals.

Victrola, a leading brand in audio since 1906, and the original manufacturer of the first in-home record player in the US, is now connected to another legendary American brand: KLH Audio. A revered name in high-fidelity loudspeakers, KLH was the company established in 1957 by audio pioneers Henry Kloss, Malcolm S. Low, and Josef Anton Hofmann. Today, Victrola is actually Innovative Technology Electronics, LLC, a Denver-based company that carries on the venerable legacy of the brand in modern turntables, and which now intends to do the same with KLH.
