Scan-Speak Moves to New Modern Facilities in Herning

After 34 years in Videbæk, speaker manufacturer Scan-Speak is relocating to new modern facilities in Herning, Central Denmark. A move focused on the future, according to sales director Jann U. Evers, the new facilities located approximately half an hour’s drive from the historical headquarters will meet the company’s increasing need for optimized production and logistics. “The time has come to move to more suitable premises!,” says Jann Evers.

Many of the tweeters we use today have sprung from the imagination of a Danish fellow, Peter Larsen, affectionately known in the speaker industry as “Tweeter Peter” from his days at JBL in the 1990s. Peter and his wife, Dorit, are also business partners in Loudsoft, the esteemed developer of speaker design software and test instrumentation. Peter Lyngdorf and Purifi Audio Announce New Radiant Acoustics Speaker Brand

There's a new Danish hifi speaker brand in the market, part of the expanding audio universe created by Peter Lyngdorf, the founder of HiFi Klubben, and co-founder of Purifi Audio. The project was inspired by Henrik Reinholdtsen, the CEO of Nordic Hi-Fi, a direct-to-consumer business that is also part of the HiFi Klubben universe. Radiant Acoustics is now on the market with the Clarity 6.2 passive speaker, using a 6.5" Purifi woofer and a new AMT tweeter, with a custom-designed waveguide, developed by Lars Risbo.

Harman Opens Consumer Audio Engineering Lab in Denmark and New Factory in Thailand

Harman International Industries has opened an Audio Engineering Lab in Kvistgaard, Denmark, aiming to research and develop new headphone audio technologies. Harman's newest audio lab, dedicated to hearables development, is the first of its kind in Europe, benefiting from pool of audio and acoustic engineers that graduate from Denmark universities, among other advantages. Harman also announced a new manufacturing facility in Thailand, to support Harman's portfolio of automotive and components solutions.

Dynaudio Expands Core Reference Monitor Range

When Dynaudio announces a new product, celebrate! This time, the Skanderborg, Denmark-based company expanded its outstanding but underrated Core studio monitor range with a new compact nearfield model, the Core 5, and a compact floor subwoofer, aptly named Core Sub Compact. This is the first refresh in the Dynaudio reference monitor range since November 2019, when the Core 47 monitor and Core Sub were launched. Project studios doing serious work are the intended target for the new models.

Vance Dickason measures the Scan-Speak D2008/2010, the revised version of the classic dome tweeter from the Danish brand. The D2010 and the D2008 are two revised classic Scan-Speak 19mm soft dome tweeters, originally launched more than 35 years ago. Scan-Speak basically discontinued production of the original 19mm ferrite magnet soft dome models and replaced them with these new 19mm textile dome neodymium motor versions.
