Number of Automotive Brands Supporting Dolby Atmos Has Doubled at Auto Shanghai 2025

Dolby Laboratories kicked off the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2025) by showcasing the next generation of in-car entertainment experiences powered by Dolby Vision HDR imaging and Dolby Atmos immersive sound. A growing number of leading auto makers are showing new models at the Shanghai show featuring Dolby Atmos and also Dolby Vision screens.
 

Dolby’s growth in automotive continues to accelerate. At Auto Shanghai 2025, many auto makers announced new vehicles to support Dolby experiences, including those debuting their first model that features Dolby. With this latest progress, the number of auto makers supporting Dolby experiences has reached 25+, doubling the number from 12 months ago.
 
With cars evolving from mere transportation tools into dynamic living spaces, consumers have unprecedented enthusiasm and expectations for high-quality in-car entertainment. At Auto Shanghai 2025, Dolby and auto partners are showcasing a variety of audio and audiovisual entertainment in Dolby that consumers in China can enjoy in their cars today through major streaming services, including music on QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, Kugou, and more, podcasts on Ximalaya, movies and episodic content on iQIYI and Tencent Video, and even UGC on bilibili.

At Auto Shanghai 2025, Dolby in-car experience continued to gain traction with Chinese and overseas auto makers announcing new models to support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos combined experience or Dolby Atmos experience and making their demonstrations with Dolby in the spotlight of the show.
 
Li Auto announced the 2025 Li MEGA Ultra and Li MEGA Home edition to support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. ZEEKR unveiled the ZEEKR 009 Grand Collector’s Edition to support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and the ZEEKR 007 GT to feature Dolby Atmos. WEY introduced the brand new Gaoshan, that supports Dolby Atmos. ONVO announced its new flagship SUV L90 to support Dolby Atmos. firefly debuted their first vehicle to feature Dolby Atmos. The Mazda EZ-60, Changan Mazda's first model to support Dolby Atmos, officially made its global debut. And Cadillac also announced the LYRIQ-V to support Dolby Atmos for the China market.

In addition, auto makers are also highlighting recently launched models with demonstrations of the Dolby experiences, including the NIO ET9 that features Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Xiaomi SU7 and SU7 Ultra integrating Dolby Atmos, and Lynk&Co 900 supporting Dolby Atmos. The new smart #5 with Dolby Atmos is also one of the highlights. Multiple brands from BYD also showcased car models that support Dolby Atmos at the show.

Supplier chain partners in the auto industry are also demonstrating their support for Dolby in-car experiences. Arkamys is showcasing to its audience how their solution optimizes and tunes the unique acoustics of the car cabin for the Dolby Atmos experience. MediaTek is demonstrating the Dolby Vision in-car experience in its Dimensity Auto MT8678 platform, which will help bring the best-in-class display experience of Dolby Vision to more vehicles around the world, alongside the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos.

China Wants Dolby Atmos
And for the first time ever, Dolby has brought its dedicated experience hub, the Dolby House, to Auto Shanghai, demonstrating the company's robust momentum in the automotive industry. On the first day of the auto show, Dolby held a media event at the Dolby House, unveiling the findings from the research conducted by the global technology market research firm, Counterpoint, on consumer perceptions on in-car entertainment in China.

According to the research study conducted by Counterpoint in April 2025 through in-depth interviews and online survey among more than 1200 car owners in China, 97% of car owners in China are aware of Dolby innovations, 4 in every 5 car owners agree that Dolby experiences considerably improve quality of entertainment, and 9 in every 10 of those who intend to purchase a new car in the next 6 months are interested in models that feature Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
 
Jing Tang, President of Flagship Products, Li Auto and Xiankai Liu, Vice President of Tencent Music Entertainment (TME) also participated in the panel of the event, discussing how both companies leveraged the remarkable experiences of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to bring the in-car entertainment experience to the next level.
