NTP Technology Joins Ravenna Audio-Over-IP Partner Community

April 11 2025, 18:10
Danish electronics manufacturer, NTP Technology, is the latest partner to join the Ravenna audio-over-IP community. NTP Technology has been developing high-quality, high-reliability, modular audio routing solutions for over three decades. With its brand DAD (Digital Audio Denmark), NTP provides audio interfaces for music recording, post-production, and live music applications. The announcement made at NAB 2025 follows the recent confirmation by Soundnet, a subsidiary of the Soundking Group, also as a member of the Ravenna community.

Designed to meet the strict requirements of the professional audio market, featuring low latency, full signal transparency, and high reliability, Ravenna enables real-time distribution of audio in IP-based network environments, utilizing standardized network protocols and technologies. Developed originally by Lawo, the German manufacturer of broadcast equipment, Ravenna is widely deployed globally for in-house signal distribution in broadcasting. Over time, the audio networking technology proved to support live sound, fixed installations, and recording equally well.

Unlike most other existing networking solutions, Ravenna is an open technology standard with no proprietary licensing policy. Ravenna is fully compatible with the AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110 standards. Liaisons with standards organizations and industry alliances (i.e., AES, AIMS, AMWA, SMPTE, and others) ensure the close alignment of Ravenna technology with current industry trends.

While Lawo serves as the gatekeeper of the Ravenna technology, product implementations are executed by individual partner companies, such as DirectOut, Genelec, Lawo, Merging, Peavey, Qbit, and many others. Network infrastructure companies such as Meinberg, NETGEAR, Luminex, and others support the Ravenna technology to ensure easy deployment, utmost operating precision, and highest reliability.

“With an ever-increasing focus on network-based audio solutions, Ravenna with AES67 and ST 2110 built-in is the perfect technology for NTP on our journey of moving further into AoIP,” states Mikael Vest, Director of Operations and COO at NTP.

NTP Technology produces high-reliability audio routing and signal processing systems for broadcast applications, audio mastering, editing, and post-production studios. DAD - Digital Audio Denmark, is renowned worldwide for analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog audio converters and studio interfaces, including models directly co-branded by major companies such as Avid. Based in Copenhagen, NTP is part of the Dan Technologies Group, one of Europe's leading suppliers of audio, video, transmission products, and digital media solutions.

“NTP has been providing digital audio routing solutions to major international radio and TV broadcasters for decades. It makes perfect sense for them to expand their offering to incorporate Ravenna as the premier audio transport technology for the broadcast industry. DAD lives in the world of high-fidelity music production, where again, it makes perfect sense to support Ravenna as the highest performance, lowest latency audio transport technology available. We’re delighted to welcome NTP to the fold and look forward to seeing their forthcoming Ravenna-enabled products,” adds Andreas Hildebrand, Ravenna Evangelist at Lawo.

Soundnet and Soundking
During the ISE 2025 show in Barcelona, Spain, Soundnet, a subsidiary of the Soundking Group, headquartered in Ningbo, China, also joined the Ravenna partner community. Soundnet’s SND Network audio transport technology is already Ravenna-compatible, and at the show, the company showcased its latest Soundnet AES67 module and introduced a range of professional audio products incorporating Ravenna. These products include mixing consoles, amplifiers, I/O adapters, DSP processors, and high channel-count DAWs. Additionally, the compact AES67 module will also support Ravenna and serve as a cost-effective OEM solution with powerful DSP processing capabilities, making it an ideal choice for integration into diverse audio products and applications.

Soundnet also provides highly customized AES67 OEM solutions tailored to the specific needs of individual manufacturers, significantly contributing to the expansion of the Ravenna ecosystem. Soundking, founded in 1988, is the largest professional audio company in China and a global leader in the audio and video intelligence integration industry. The announcement is likely to increase Ravenna’s adoption amongst Chinese manufacturers and a growing base of end users thanks to Soundking’s extensive sales network and promotional channels.
